The High-A Timber Rattlers aim to clinch a series win (up 3-1 at present) at home against Fort Wayne and LHP Russell Smith (6.60 ERA, 1.73 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 15 innings) hopes to register his first official win in the Brewers' system. CF Joe Gray Jr. is finally finding a bit of success at the plate, coming in with a 5-game hitting streak:

The Canadians (Tyler Black, Tristan Peters) are coming through. Black walked, stole 2 bases and scored on a Joe Gray Jr. sacrifice fly. Peters then singled in Darrien Miller (who'd walked). 2-0 Wisconsin after the 1st inning.

Joe Gray Jr. staying focused, committed, and heating up. He worked a walk in the first inning and now he launched a HR to left field in the 3rd. It's 3-0 T-Rats. Russ Smith has 4 k's of 1 hit and 1 bb ball through 3.

RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez makes his 2nd start and 5th appearance of the year, as the Mudcats strive for a 4-1 series lead at home against Augusta. Yesterday’s hero RF Oswel Leones is batting 8th:

RHP Cam Robinson, professional fireman. He faced down a TinCap 8th inning rally, entering the 6-3 game with 2-on, nobody out. A strikeout and 1-4-3 double play later, we head to the 9th.

AAA Nashville is knotted at 2-2 in their series with Norfolk, with RHP Dylan File (4.84 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 6.4 K/9 in 22 1/3 IP) on the mound tonight. Red-hot 3B Mark Mathias (1.001 OPS in 62 plate appearances) is back in the lineup after a day off:

UPDATE: Brosseau called up to Brewers, replaced in lineup by Andruw Monasterio. Dahl is also swapped for Weston Wilson. Jonathan Davis will lead off.

AA Biloxi sends RHP Lucas Erceg (likely an opener for LHP Andy Otero) to the mound in Montgomery as the squad tries to end its 5-game skid. 1B Thomas Dillard aims to homer for a 3rd consecutive game:

The first 4 hitters reached base against Rodriguez (with 1 scoring), but he then settled in and retired 13 hitters in a row.

OF Arbert Cipion turned around that 1-0 deficit with a 2-run homer in the 4th inning. A SS Eduardo Garcia RBI single in the 5th inning has Carolina ahead 3-1, though it's worrisome that Garcia immediately exited for a pinch runner.

RHP Miguel Segura came on in relief of Rodriguez in the 5th inning, but he's run into difficulty in the 6th inning.

Consistent traffic against Segura eventually gave Augusta a 5-3 lead, but thankfully 7th inning singles by Leones, Chourio and Alberis Ferrer (2 RBIs) have tied it up.
