RHP Alexander Cornielle looks for his first win, as the Mudcats seek a 3-1 series lead over Augusta, with old hand C Jose Sibrian (3-for-4 with 2 doubles in his last game) behind the dish:58565DBD-02CD-48BF-A678-00DDB2C661FF.jpeg

International League Pitcher of the Month for April LHP Ethan Small (0.77 ERA in 5 starts) strives to keep the momentum rolling in May against Norfolk, as 1B Jon Singleton (6-for-14 with 3 HR, a double and 9 BBs over his past 6 games) supplies the power:

It’s RHP Carlos Luna’s turn to snap Biloxi’s 4-game losing streak, including 3 losses in this series at Montgomery. DH Joey Wiemer’s going to continue to do his part, with an extra-base hit in 5 consecutive games:

I’ll be looking at two things given the pitching tonight:

Can Carlos Luna increase his efficiency? He has a classic Panamanian pitching style with a (very) little bit of Mariano Rivera in his arsenal (obviously nowhere near the velocity) and can Ethan Small reduce his free passes?

Unfortunately, Alexander Cornielle didn't last one inning, giving up 3 runs, 3 hits and allowing 2 other base runners in 2/3 IP. The Mudcats will need to claw back the runs, presently down 3-0.

Wisconsin gets on the board first without the benefit of a base hit as Peters & Black both walked, with Peters moving to third on what must have been a pretty well hit fly ball to LF by JGJ & then scoring on a Warren sac fly.

Carolina delayed, but Chourio added an RBI double to his ledger before the weather intervened.

Pablo Garabitos also added 3.1 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 3 K out of the pen to lower his ERA to 1.93 on the season,
