I agree with everything that is being said about Cain, I just hope he doesn't become the board whipping boy.  He is what he is at this point.

LoCain is Charlie Hustle!

Taylor is most definitely an improvement with the bat. Cain, at this point in his career, cannot do what Taylor did yesterday, which is hit a 98 mph fastball at the shoulders deep into the bleachers. Cain will be staying on the roster for the duration of the season due to his salary, but it should really only be as a late-inning defensive replacement. As far as a potential trade, I wouldn't mind taking a look at Joey Gallo should the Yankees make him available. Or Cedric Mullins from the Orioles....

Mullins would be ideal … what would he cost? 2 or 3 top 10 prospects?

I hope Cain makes my previous post look foolish … big hit here would be nice!

I loved seeing him hustle to prevent the double play & get us a lead run! ??

I don't either,  Cain has earned too much respect or should have at least. But it also is  a what have done for me lately deal.

In response to Gallo , for me its a no , haven't seen his stats lately , but I don't want a guy that strikes out half the time.

Yeah. I would say that, for him, we're probably looking at a Small/Ashby and a Mitchell/Frelick/Wiemer

Yelich with 3 more hard hit balls tonight.

McCutchen shows that hitting the ball out of the infield isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

No on Gallo for me too.

There was no doubt Cain was going to beat that out.

Not only was I not sure he would beat it out, I wasn’t sure he would survive it without a pulled hamstring.

Gallo really is an enigma. On the one hand, he put up a 4.2 WAR last year, won a Gold Glove, and hit nearly 40 homers. On the other hand, he led the league in strikeouts, and has started this year slow with the bat. Considering he's still only 28, provides you that base value with the defense, and is a free agent after this season, I would take him. However, I don't think I would give up one of our top 6/7 prospects to do it.

I would be okay with Small & Mitchell … huge losses from the prospect list but Mullins is a proven & young quality CF

Yeah. The only ones I wouldn't want to part with in that scenario would be Ashby and Wiemer.
