If only we had signed Castellanos.......

The way I look at it, this Reds team was perfectly mediocre with Castellanos last year. That leads me to believe that had this obviously good Brewers team signed Castellanos, they would be in line for at least 140 wins this year ... ;)

Oh, I don't doubt that we'll be hearing this argument from a certain someone soon enough.....

Does anyone remember when 2 weeks in, the season was already over because the offense was so bad?

Let's not use this small sample size as more conclusive than the previous small sample size. People tend to overreact in both directions; it's a long baseball season, the pendulum has a lot more swings in it.

I was mostly just teasing the negative people that apparently aren't here because the Brewers are doing well and there's nothing to whine about. You're generally right, I've said all along see what things look like around the 40 game mark to have some idea of what's good, what's bad, etc.

This is a good point, but also remember that during the first two weeks we didn't have a bell...

Like if you aren't hanging 10 runs on Scherzer it's like it didn't even count...

Well that and nobody else actually plays any of the bad teams, only the Brewers do.

Reds fans are cheering against them -- they want them to be so terrible that ownership has to sell. So there's no reason not to cheer for record futility (except Votto).

Check out the Redszone forums. Those guys are hurting. I like the Reds. Lived in Cincinnati for a while. The way the club is such a part of the city's history is special. A friend of mine was venting, and I told him that the Reds will win more games than the Bengals, and the Bengals went to the Super Bowl. Now, I'm not so sure.

I kinda want Hader to pitch today, as I'm fully expecting he'll end up being called upon to preserve a slim lead at some point in Atlanta this weekend. Don't want him to be too rusty in that scenario....

It's way more fun to overreact in this direction, though. Whoever heard of a Noon gameday thread heading to page 6 in the third inning! I have no obligation to temper my enjoyment! What would Coach Carter say?

When your owner says the quiet part out loud, you are going to lose the fan base.

Most of the people on this thread are here whether the team is winning or losing.  We all know the usual suspects that hide when the team is doing well and only come on to troll.  I think think the die hards that endure that should be able to celebrate now, even if it is over the top.
