Thank you to the opening message for the GT.  I am one who has avoided this spot for quite awhile during games--mainly because a few posters do not make it fun to be here (DESPITE THE GREATEST 4 YEAR RUN IN THE HISTORY OF BREWER BASEBALL)

Have mercy on the grumpy ones!

Wisconsin spring weather has been lousy!

You’re welcome. Any any time a mod isn’t here there is a report button on the top right … menu of each post. That notifies us of a problem.

Ah crap you're right thanks for the catch. I had assumed he was catching because he's been hitting. Haven't quite gotten use to the DH in the NL, I guess. Still, it's "LOL CONTRERAS" all day every day, am I right?

Absolutely. I like how he's the only one left of the big 4 and he's stuck on a team that will be lucky to have a winning record in 5 years.  :)

Crappy called strike on the 1-1 pitch caused that one.

I just got home and that was the first pitch I saw.  I thought Angel was behind the plate again.

So, is this season just going to turn into a competition for who can claim one of the four spots in our postseason rotation?

If that is the case we have some serious first world problems.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Back to back 10+ strikeout games for Lauer. Very impressive, per Will Sammon his career high in a game entering this season was 9.

If you like pitchers with 36% strikeout and 4% walk rates, this version of Eric Lauer is for you

Why we'll end up giving him as much time as possible to get out of his offensive slump

Right now he's a 0.0 WAR player.  His defense is just enough to offset his atrocious offense and make him a replacement level player still.  I don't think he can play D good enough over the course of a season well enough to offset a .450-ish OPS, but he's still productive with the glove, and like you said, it's enough of a plus that they'll give him some time.
