Any chance we see Wiemer in Milwaukee this year? It has gotten past the point of a hot streak. I know it would be aggressive but he isn't THAT young.

If they could expand rosters to 40 like they used to, it would be possible (though he'd have to be on the 40 man roster, which I don't think he is). I think the only way he gets to the majors is if he stays very hot AND there are injuries on the major league team.

I really don't see it this season. With the caveat that anything is possible, and his talent is clear as day. However, I would like to see him face Triple-A as his next promotion. Then, I'd be looking for him to make some noise in 2023. He needs to work on some things, as impressive as he has been. I want him to get better at all the off-speed stuff. He is showing he can hit mistakes which is awesome. Now, I want to see him get back to those professional AB's of the earlier stretch of the season. He's gotten a little over aggressive as of late. What I'm saying is, a little fine-tuning and more AB's and keep progressing upward.

In other news, I just added this to my report, but check out this choice diving play by Mitchell to make a key first out in the top of the ninth. He's healthy and really stringing together fantastic play here over the past week or so. It's been a real pleasure to watch:

The issues in Biloxi have been errors - primarily from certain infielders I shall not name - and a complete inability to hit lefties. The lower portion of the batting order has typically been entirely unproductive to boot. If we're not getting runs in 1-4 we are really struggling to get runners on base let alone driven in 5-9.

Even if he stays hot, gotta think Wiemer is looking at minimum 6-8 weeks each in AA & AAA.

Maybe he gets a late season call, but that will depend on factors beside just his performance too.

Then again he’s been blowing away expectations for almost a year now so I’m not betting against it either.

I think the legitimate ‘He has officially arrived’ I never talk about, honestly, is he is currently approaching the energy - in stadium and it’s transmitting through the broadcasts (not to get woo woo but you can feel the energy in the ballpark) - of must watch every AB’s. It’s hard to articulate. But, you can sense it in the games. He’s potentially on the precipice of something great if he can stay locked in, humble, and can simply keep building. His growth has been absolutely incredible as well as his comfort with his swing. He has decent range in the OF as well and has played CF in several games. His arm is a legitimate cannon and it’s very accurate.

But, we all know, the step up to Triple-A and to Bigs is no small one. I don’t want to jeopardize his comfortability by rushing it too early. I’m with you, tho: I won’t put limitations on how fast and how far he can go.
