On to Pittsburgh.

The Brewers are a good baseball team. They are often not fun to watch hit, but they'll win a lot of games.

You just have to be okay in April. Brewers have been pretty good. I'll take it and hope we get on a run against Cincy and Pitt in the coming weeks.

I don't understand pinch hitting for huira who was on base twice tonight, but letting Cain hit who was 0-3 and sporting a sub 150 Batting avg.

Remember what Yoda said:

I guess it could help but when you need to replace about six bats in the lineup with guys who can hit a baseball it doesn't seem to be a top priority.

They didn’t treat the bats as a priority either…

I’d like to see the Brewers simply release Cain rather than cut a player that might actually help them this year

I like the person … but the player is done

Surely one of the AAA CFers could take his place

Renfroe’s at bats are so undisciplined. It’s hard to watch him sometimes. He’s the absolute encapsulation of lightening in a bottle.

No wonder he's on his fourth team in as many years.

Final thought, we have to find production at CF. It’s the most glaring weakness at the moment. Go Crew

you mean besides 3B, LF, and RF.  Oh and 2B, and SS...

Urias should make third base pretty good but this offense is easily the worst of any contending team. The pitching will win them a lot of games but how is this team a playoff threat when the offense is this terrible.

I'll bet that we'll be fine at 3B, SS, and 2B with Urias, Adames, and Wong. But Counsell has gotta stop automatically inserting McCutchen into the lineup against right-handers and get Taylor some more at bats! Bring Turang up, too, if we're not going to trade him.

I don't want McCutchen playing every day either but its not like we have anyone better. The front office and ownership did nothing to improve what was an awful lineup.

I think a Cain DFA is the right move at this point.

If they are taking a chance at some kind of spark, I guess they have to try David Dahl.

Otherwise, it would be a mistake to bring him up now expecting offense, but defensively Turang can actually platoon with Taylor in CF and take Peterson's IF LHB roster spot.

I love me some Brewers. I think they’re going to win the division. They are the most boring team in the majors offensively. I also think they’ll be okay at 3B. Not sure about SS or 2B. I can’t see the offense in the outfield getting appreciatively better. Taylor might be our best CF.

Cain had two hard hit balls that went for outs so there was that.  I think pinch hitting for Hiura was the right call.

I wanted Strickland to return

He went to Cincy

If the Brewers think the offense is what it is at this point, they need to look for another arm or 2 in the pen.  The middle relief is iffy at this point.

Strickland has been awful this year for Cincy. I think we're fine in the bullpen to be honest. Could we use one more guy? Sure. But priority #1 is finding a legit bat to put at the top of the order....

We do, though. His name is Keston Hiura, who has been our "best" hitter so far and who Counsell only seems to want to play against left handers despite his reverse splits. More Hiura and Taylor, less Cain and McCutchen (against righties). Also, bring up Turang and possibly even Dahl.
