I didn't think the Schwarber call was very bad.  It was close, really close.  Nonetheless I appreciated him because he was more or less making sure to get his in, versus teeing off on that particular call.  And sometimes there's a time and place for that.  Made sense to me.

I guess you have to argue the pitch you got, but that was the closest strike to the strike zone all night for Hernandez.

In thought the same thing. It was just inside but it was coming across the plate. Probably should have been a ball, but it wasn’t even close to being one of the worst calls tonight.

I couldn’t tell of this game was more boring than the new Batman movie I just watched

at least this game a good ending

It was better than Ad Astra.

Even Riff Trax could not save that piece of garbage.

I mean the call on Schwarber was whatever.  Pitch was maybe a quarter of an inch outside.  It's just the other 15 blown strike calls throughout the game that's too much.  Not a good look for baseball to get Angel behind the plate on the Sunday night game.

That's the point Schwarber was making.  It could have even been a bad call earlier in his at-bat.  There's a tweet that I won't re-post here, but he said on the way to the dugout "All night, the whole night, on BOTH sides.... 'expletive expletive".

If Hernandez had even come close to calling an "ok" game, I highly doubt this blowup happens.  The amount of egregiously bad, blown calls he had tonight is stunning.  And it's not like he had a couple "close ones" that could have gone either way, it's seriously questionable based on the evidence on hand if Hernandez was even watching this game, or playing Nintendo Switch.

It's just amazing how much different an Angel Hernandez game is compared to all other home plate umpires we've seen so far this year.  The umpires of today are better than ever and most arguments are over an inch off the plate.  There was one call today that might've missed 6 inches inside.  You just don't see that anymore.

That pitch to Segura was easily 6 inches off the inside of the plate.  Jean didn't even look mad.... he looked stunned that it was called a strike.  Like .... "Seriously Angel?  What are you looking at?"

The one to navrarez will be the worst strike call of the year

i will guarantee it.    There is no way you can call that a strike

I think the one to Segura was worse, but just my opinion of course.
