I was upset that Realmuto didn’t get out of the way of the plate when there was no chance of a play at home. He could have injured Adames by still blocking the plate.

My thought as well. Where else was Adames supposed to slide?

IF the Brewers offense can avoid being utterly incompetent, we should win quite a few games yet again this summer.

I like your optimism. Having had too much to drink, I love you man...

I do agree that pitchers throw harder but I’ve spoken to many coaches and they acknowledge measuring pitch speed etc is a lot more precise.  I. E. The guns are better/inflated compared to the 80s

That really isn't it.  It is the amount of pitchers who pitch as hard as they do now.  Normally it was 2 or 3 guys on the whole staff who throw as hard as the pitchers do now.  Now you have about 7-10 of them.

Between the ads here and the vizzy commercial, the brewers baseball experience this year has been irritating to say the least.

Let's hope the pitching staff shuts down the Phillies the rest of the game because that's about all we can expect from the offense is one big inning.

Ok, maybe one more run, but isn't five runs pretty much their ceiling now?

That is true.   It’s too hard to have a whole dissertation on this subject on a game thread.    It’s the idea of having a bunch of guys in the bullpen who are good too.  Compared to the past when bullpen guys were considered failed pitchers.

it’s hard to explain it all here.    But I think it’s silly that these batters shouldn’t be able to adapt some instead of throwing up their hands and say I’m just going to bat .190 for a career

there are things they can do.    Players always adapt throughout history

Another thing is that despite being faster than ever, fastballs are being thrown with less frequency than ever.

The first year measuring pitch type & velocity across the league in 2002 it was 89.0 MPH & 64.4% fastballs.

So far this year it is 93.4 MPH & 48.8%. Velocity up 4.4 MPH but usage down 15.6% over the last 20 years.

Squaring up an 89 MPH fastball back in 2002 for a line drive is one thing, squaring up a pitch that same speed (but now its a slider or a cutter or a change up with exponentially more movement) is a whole different thing.

Agree.    The ability to measure spin rate has changed pitching more than anything in my opinion.    Pitchers didn’t have those tools to work on before

At least that high quality ownership group will make a profit

Well they did spend all that money on Moustakas, Votto and Castellanos at one point.  They had the offense to win a world series and they spent the money to do so but didn't even make it anywhere close to a world series appearance let alone winning it.

Sometimes spending money is just spending money.

They spent it on the wrong guys.  Moose has been an absolute bust since leaving Milwaukee.
