PeaveyFury?

So, any discussion thread starting a topic on how we treat the rest of the season is considered as a "vent"? Give me a break, man. I know some of these topics are being discussed elsewhere, but that doesn't mean the thread I started doesn't belong. I wasn't venting, I was hoping to start a meaningful thread.

Apparently, you have to have a "positive" thread, be one of the "moderators", or have thousands of posts to be able to start a thread.

All they try to do (and they do an excellent job of it) is keep BF.net clean. How many forums have you ever seen where topics are just all over the place or being repeated. I'd say BF.net does a great job of keeping things organized. Don't be offended - just jump in one of the thread's that Peavey pointed to. It's a good question you're raising.

Your topic covered four specific topics that are being discussed to death on these boards- Ned Yost and his future, Cordero's struggles/contract, the bullpen's struggles, and Weeks' struggles. Considering it was also venting, creating a separate topic was unnecessary.

If you look around the site, you'll see that's a pretty inaccurate generalization and exaggeration. There are many threads where concerns about the team are raised... and there are several newer posters who have started threads. If you really need me to find several examples of this, let me know.

The best approach is to pick one topic at a time, especially ones that aren't being covered in other threads, especially threads that are active and on the first page of threads in the major league forum.

Keep in mind, too, that ezBoard only 'keeps' 500 threads per forum active and available before dropping them into oblivion. Right now, that's only five weeks worth of threads in the Major League Forum. Given that, and also taking basic netiquette into account, it only makes sense to try to find an existing thread before starting a new one.

Keep your fellow posters in mind, too. They don't want to read (and possibly consider responding to) the same things in several different threads.

Also, it's pretty unfair to single out PeaveyFury. He's just doing what the rest of us would have done. I just took a look at the locked thread, and he was right. The topics within it were covered all over the forum.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
