I haven’t looked it up but it feels like Peralta’s change up is just getting smashed so far this year.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he has an above .900 OPS for that pitch.

Sorry if someone answered this already (I'm just catching up), but here are his numbers with the changeup coming into tonight...

Even though that was illegal the one time he did it

I think the criteria is whether it makes a mockery of the rules. I think that Segura was genuinely confused and reacted in that confusion. Innocent maybe?

Speaking of Segura, I felt extra old yesterday when I realized he ranks as having the 24th most career hits among all active MLB'ers. Feels like just yesterday the Brewers traded Greinke for him.

No, the league clarified a few days later that the umpires made a mistake in allowing Segura to go from second to first

In short, the rules about returning to a base after touching the next one relate to returning on the same play.

When a runner is on a base when a pitch is thrown he can’t go back to another one

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Thanks for the update. So does that mean that stealing first can never happen again? Sorry, just a fun concept for me.
