Gamecast says "Renfroe doubled to first." What happened?

And as i type this, Keston goes yard!

Cue ball down right field line. Not sure I'd call it "to first" though

Looks like we may need to start having the small sample size discussion again....Literally everyone besides Tellez is hitting well below their career averages. Unless the entire team has started a massive, coordinated decline, I refuse to believe that the sky is falling.

This HR notwithstanding, my comments about Hiura are not based on a small sample size.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

ground ball exit velocity of about 3 mph down the right field line away from the shift, died in the outfield grass about 8 feet past first base.

Things that aged poorly: this thread.

All I can do is shake my head. Sometimes I wonder why I even come here. He had 14 ABs going into today's game.

On my lunch break I was catch-up reading this thread as I started the radio broadcast off mlb.  I was in the middle of reading the Hiura bashing right as the broadcast kicked in and he hit the 3run HR.

I found it hilarious anyways.

The past is past ... enjoy the blast ... watch it again on GameCast ... that ball left the yard fast!  :)

The team finished last season with an overall battling line of .233/.317/.396 good for 23rd in baseball so you should be concerned.

Notice how I said "AS" concerned, which literally means I'm concerned. You must have poor reading comprehension, because I've stated on several occasions (even on this very game thread) how, while this lineup is plenty good enough to get us to the playoffs with our elite pitching (as demonstrated last year), we almost certainly need to add a piece or two to go any deeper. You should try a different schtick. Because the one you have going on right now clearly ain't working.

It's funny how, as a long time lurker, these sorts of comments have had the exact opposite effect on me! lol

Thanks, I was at a game (2018?) where Arcia bunted for a double down the first base line.

Even last night when they scored 5 runs the team had only three hits. You really have to be wearing rose colored glasses to think this lineup is good enough with this cast of characters.

I think the lineup bashing would be better received if either (1) it wasn't included in nearly every thread you participate in, or (2) it occasionally didn't come across as the sky is falling and everything is hopeless.

Of course there is another option (3): Funny Memes...

Not just “at Night” anymore.

But that sample size also doesn't take into account his recent mechanical adjustments at the plate. He's always had the talent and the exit velocity, the question has just been whether he can make contact at a reasonable enough rate for it to matter.
