The Brewers finally play their first night game of the season. The Orioles starter for this evening is still TBD as of early Tuesday morning.

Here’s a fun little “did you know”…

While the Milwaukee Brewers origins can be traced back to Seattle [Pilots] and the Braves before them came to Milwaukee by way of Boston, there is one MLB franchise that actually originated in Milwaukee. That’s right, you guessed it, the franchise now known as the Baltimore Orioles played in the American League in 1901 as the Milwaukee Brewers.

From Wiki (Baltimore Orioles history) :

So I guess even if the Brewers suffer another defeat we can all take a tiny bit of solace in the fact the loss will come at the hands of the OG Milwaukee Brewers.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I can't watch tonight's game so I suppose they'll find a way to win...

Thanks for taking one for the team. :)

The Brewers don't seem to do so well against TBD, but I think this is the game the offense turns a corner.  Whether it's down another dark alley I can't say.

Hunter reminds fans: It's only 4 games

The discipline at the plate is actually quite good, fwiw:

They simply need to start hitting with RISP and getting dialed in when they are making contact. Here's hoping Eric's hiccups in ST aren't as true in this early season as Woody's. The obvious addendum here could be: they've struggled to hit w RISP for 2 years now. I have no answers there.

This is a little random but I was puttering through some early MLB statistics and made this interesting discovery for this young season.

Guardians rookie Steven Kwan is leading MLB with a .692 AVG, 789 OBP and 1.789 OPS, also leading the league in runs, hits, triples and walks (and zero strikeouts). Now that is an impressive debut.

Not only that, and I'm not kidding:

He hasn't experienced a single swing and a miss. It's unbelievable.

He doesn’t hit the ball very hard (max exit velocity so far is 103-mph), but he still consistently makes his contact count with a barrel rate above 10%. He’ll be fun to watch, seems like could end up being another example of someone that wasn’t well known as a prospect, but becomes a good major leaguer. I also think he'll develop more power to pair with his contact ability (or at least reach his ceiling in terms of maximizing his potential power output). Sort of in the Michael Brantley mold in terms of being less heralded during his time in the minors but really breaking out as he approached the majors.

I watched some video of Kwan hitting and he has the classic Keston Hiura leg kick. Let's pour one out to the eventual demise of his MLB career.
