Yuku cutover issues (Latest: Splitting/merging topics; cuss filter)

It seems like yuku has a lot of inconsistencies with font faces, column titles, etc. I too noticed the IGT's with the url as the title and not the date of the game. Sometimes the font faces look big and then a few moments later it changes. The titles in the message board forums also seem to change whenever it feels like it. Sometimes it shows the last poster and sometimes it shows the thread author.

I like the truck signifying the thread has moved. I noticed the PODZ thread moved automatically to the rumors forum without having to read some editing post and then looking for the thread in the different forum. I found the spellcheck as part of preview. Perhaps I'll use preview more often before posting.

Big Reed, we were able to move threads and forward users to the right forum near the end of Brewerfan's ezBoard existence. But we didn't have that cool truck icon, thoough. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

jaybird, which browser are you using? Is this all on the same machine?

As was mentioned a few posts above, I've PMed a Yuku staffer on the thread titles changing to URLs at times for certain users. I haven't heard back yet. It's uncharacteristic of him not to respond quickly; I have to assume he's taking a well-deserved day or two off.

casey, yeah I am using the same computer with the same web browser for this forum. It is like the past couple days, the forum has gone completely wacko and haywire. The IGT's as stated above, show the actual topic (eg. Brewers-Rockies 8/8/07) for a split millisecond as the page uploads, then it reverts to the URL address as the topic. It is kind of annoying because it is harder for me to find the actual game thread for the given day.

The whole entire message board has gone whacko as well. The title headers seem to change whenever it feels like, as I said above. One minute the last column on the right says "Last post: time and date stamp" with no author of the last post. Then the next minute it shows the author of the last post. It is really screwy and I know you probably don't understand a word I am saying right now.

It's a browser cache issue. Brian and I both noticed it when he made some tiny skin changes about a week ago. The same thing happened to me tonight when I made a minor change.

(Tonight's change was to hide the hot topic stuff from the legend at the bottom of the forum pages. b19 basically killed hot topic ability the day we migrated, but the icons and explanations were still noted in the legend.)

The solution is to either let your browser 'catch up' or dump its cache.

We now have the ability to unlink Photobucket accounts. To unlink or link your photobucket account, open your navigation panel and click Settings, then click Photobucket.

Not sure if this has been covered anywhere in the thread yet, but I can't seem to figure out how to post evenly spaced charts. Before the cutover, there was a "CODE" button you could use, that would allow you to copy and paste charts that were nicely alligned. Is there anyway to do this now?

There's an issue with the charts wanting to double-space themselves. I'm going to get some examples to Kristen when I get around to it.

You can also use the HTML

 tags. Whether it's or

, use the HTML view to place the tags, switch back to normal view, then edit away.

Pasting either of these into the HTML should work as well as anything: xx or

xx
. After returning to the normal editor view, replace xx with whatever you need.

 <font size="4"> [u]OBP[/u] [u]SLG[/u] [u]OPS[/u] vs LHP .350 .400 .750
vs RHP .300 .350 .650
</font>

It seems to be working better with the

 tags:
OBP SLG OPS vs LHP .350 .400 .750

vs RHP .300 .350 .650

But now, the line skipping issue is popping up.

 [u]OBP[/u] [u]SLG[/u] [u]OPS[/u] vs LHP .350 .400 .750 vs RHP .300 .350 .650

This is what you get when you remove the font sizing.

What you're going to want to do is just to the lining up in notepad, and then paste it between the tags.

That's what I've been trying. That's how I've always done it. It seems to work with the
tags like 1992casey said, but with the tags, it keeps shifting the top line on me.

I pasted the information in without

s, but the editor puts them in anyway. If I remove them in the HTML view, I get one long line.

The one above, with the double-spacing throughout, is what I typically get. But 'typically' is the operative word. Sometimes it's different. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

This one uses the code bbcode directly in the editor (no HTML view). It's the same as the

 tags above.

Close up the spaces: [ code ]something [/ code ]

From examining the HTML in other posts, the problem appears to be that Yuku forces

s to double-space... usually.

You can see by Kristin's five edits in the post above that we're not crazy. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif She found 'pretty charts' to be a challenge, too. She sent this as part of a PM this afternoon:

Well there's definitely some strange issues with using the "pre" tag. I'll check with the developer who wrote the text editor to see if anything can be done.
My suggestion is to paste
xx
into the HTML view, go back to the WYSIWYG view (normal editing), then replace the xx with whatever you'd like to post. If anyone can come up with anything they feel works better, certainly share your success story.

I've re-written the Usability FAQ to include a lot of Yuku additions.

At the bottom, I've designated threads for signature and avatar issues. Feel free to start new threads for topics you feel should be discussed separately. This thread can be used for any catch-all stuff.

The

 / /
[code] stuff above isn't yet included in the FAQ. I'll add it when we can land on the "best" way to do that. The pretty chart issue is certainly worthy of it's own thread. But if anyone wants to continue the discussion here, that's fine, too.

I went through this forum and locked a bunch of obsolete ezBoard-related threads that might pop up if people did searches for common forum-related issues. Because I didn't want to bump those old threads, I didn't leave individual lock messages.

When I go to post a reply, I don't have any options any more, well buttons I guess I should say, for adding the bold, italic, colors, etc.

Is this something that happened to everyone and now we have to put our own code in, or is it just me?
