We’ll add lineups to the initial post when they’re available.

The Brewers seemed to put emphasis this offseason on improving their lineup versus left-handed pitching. They’ll get their first test of the season facing a southpaw starter today.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I think there’s more than a 50% chance this game will be postponed.

Today’s weather is making yesterday’s look pleasant with more persistent rain showers and an expectation of some snow bursts that might produce some slushy accumulations.

I’d rather see the game called than to risk injuries in conditions like that.
Based on the time a few years ago when the Cubs called a game early in the morning on what turned out to be a nice day because their pitching was strained, I wouldn’t  put it past them to try to start today because they want to ride their momentum.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I would be shocked if this game gets played. But the chance of precip hovers around 50-60% for most of the window, so you never know I guess.

Given the myriad opportunities to make this one up, the better outlook for Sat/Sun, I just don't see a reason to make guys play in cold, wet, even snowy, windy conditions. Plus, Cubs had to use better bullpen arms yesterday, so, knowing them, they'll want to give those guys another day ?.

I like the lineup changes today … except for Yelich hitting 3rd

If Cutch can lead off & Wong is moved to lower in the order … Why not Yelich?

I hope we don’t have a third year of Yelich in the three hole everyday - even if he’s not producing

It may not matter … this game will likely be cancelled due to rain & snow … but I wish Counsell would begin this year by playing Taylor & Cain against lefties until Yelich proves worthy of starting every day

Given what they are paying Yelich, he's gonna be in there every day, save injury.

I think his point wasn't to bench Yelich, but to drop him in the order, which should have been done midway through last season.

Since that didn't happen, I doubt it will happen this year either.

He literally said " I wish Counsell would begin this year by playing Taylor & Cain against lefties until Yelich proves worthy of starting every day"

I read that as him saying Yelich shouldn't be playing against lefties.

Regardless of what they are paying him, if Yelich goes for a month or two like he did last year, I expect that there will be a change in how much he plays and/or where in the order he hits.

I really don't like goose island beer. Give me a Spotted Cow any day.

Best Take in this thread. Agreed. Goose Island is overpriced and over rated beer with a Goose head on it. I personally think people are drawn to the Goose...and, like a goose, it is filled with sh!t. ?

Goose Island is owned by AB InBev, right? That's no different than drinking a Budweiser.

Yes indeed it is and, as far as I know (via discussions at Widmer in Portland, OR), I believe GI is actually now brewed in Belgium at their InBev facilities there. A Classic Modern microbrew story.

I attempted to say BOTH …

Yelich should be dropped in the order to the bottom third until he shows he is capable of doing enough damage to warrant hitting 3rd

and … I’d love to see him rest more often (maybe two days each week) against lefties to keep more impactful RH bats in the lineup

I hate for salary & history to be the primary reasons he plays everyday & bats 3rd

I hope he gets red-hot & removes the need for this discussion … but I see no reason to believe that will happen
