Your 2022 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

 Share

Brewer Fanatic Staff

We will begin to see some formal minor league roster announcements soon. The Wisconsin formal announcement will come directly from the Timber Rattlers, not the Brewers. All four minor league affiliates will likely send out their press releases within an hour or so of each other once the Brewers have given them the official go-ahead to do so.

Timber Rattlers' Opening Night is Friday 4/8!

Feel free to link to any formal notices you see here.

Often we learn via farmhand tweets, who has been assigned where, prior to the formal affiliate announcements. We'll link to any of those posts in this thread as they come out.

As you might know, we use the "Your 2022" team threads to post and link to feature stories, including audio and video, that are outside the scope of game activity covered in the Daily Minor League Link Report.

These threads have become among the most popular for viewing here, and we look forward to kicking them off formally.

Please do not speculate on any player releases. Brewers Player Development or MiLB.com will update us formally.

Really hoping Joe Gray Jr. finds that success he found in Carolina and builds some more momentum for his career.

Some interesting stories in that pitching staff to boot. Love the stories of Meeker and Gillies. Really hope Kelly sees a promotion by Mid Summer - that would mean good good things.

Will brings up a very noteworthy thing for many of the T-Rats pitchers: Guys like Cam Robinson and Russ Smith are completely unfamiliar with pitching in these types of cold and windy conditions. It's good to bring some awareness for a guy like Russ who clearly has not been comfortable dealing with this for the first time. He mentions what I said before the season: Antoine Kelly has Big League stuff today. Gotta love it.

Catch the latest "T-Rat Talk" via Kyle Lobner, with LHP Antoine Kelly.

Be sure to read the full article at the link in addition to watching the very soft-spoken Kelly below.

It's hard not to be extremely excited about Kelly's toolkit and, most noticeably, his current approach. Extremely level-headed young man who seems to really espouse that 'never too high, never too low' mentality. He's fought through very early adversity and has that experience foundational to his career.

I've watched his ascent all season down in Zebulon, I've mentioned him on numerous occasions in my Minor League Reports - including repeated nods to his improved play in the season's early going - Example Here - as he seemed to be turning a possible corner. Why has Arbert Cipion been promoted? Here's a snippet:

Huge congratulations to this young man. It's amazing what further departure from early COVID can do for these young athletes. It's almost like we can surmise an entire missed 2020 season of development had an impact.

this is such a smooth and easy delivery...
