Favorite Pitcher at the Plate moment

Dragonbait

My high school coach was, shall we say, a "piece of work" and didn't let pitchers hit unless you could smack dingers on the regular. As such, I didn't get to hit for my final two seasons. Didn't even take batting practice. But my senior year, we were beating the hell out of some team, so the coach let all the pitchers on the bench pinch hit. I lined a single to right, ended my varsity career with a 1.000 BA.

Oh wait, we're talking about BREWERS pitchers? Woodruff, then.

Not necessarily a favorite, but I always remember this: in '73 or '74, we were at a doubleheader vs Cleveland. Near the end of game 1, for whatever reason Del Crandall put his DH in the game defensively. This put the pitcher in the batting order, and Eduardo Rodriguez stepped up & tripled to right-center. Funny the crap that sticks in your brainpan.

The DH can be inserted into the field? Still?

The DH could always take the field, couldn’t they? I believe the only penalty was loss of the DH for the rest of the game.

The Ohtani rule is different in that if the starting pitcher chooses to DH, they can remain as a DH after they leave the game as a pitcher.
