May 11th Inaugural Softball Game - Who Wants Food?

I'd like to make a dinner spread for during/after our first softball game. This would be a dry run for Fanfest for me so I can tweak foods/amounts. There would be NO COST. I need to check with the parks system about setting up a tent and having food...but first off I need to know how many of you would be interested. This is for players and family only, please. Let me know how many would be interested in your group.

 

I was thinking of BBQ boneless spareribs, brats, boneless chicken breasts, calico beans, roasted corn, and potato salad. I have yet to decide on dessert. There was a LOT of cake left over at Fanfest last year, so I might make a cranberry fluff instead. The meal would include soda/water, but no beer (as it is not allowed in the park).

I was planning on attending alone, but my wife just informed me otherwise. She will be bringing our boy (6) and is willing to bring or assist with food.

Please no beer. Milwaukee Rec is waaay adamant about that. I will be suspended from play as will the player(s) drinking.

As far as food-

I could eat a few brats. Mary and Rachel will be with me. Don't go nutty though on food. I need these guys in "game shape" and full tummies= slow players. lol

I'll be there with my wife and 2 little kids, but they probably won't eat much (if at all). I definitely will try some of the legendary cooking though.

Uhm, not to be a downer, but is it really a good idea to be chowing down during the game? The pace is somewhat quick, plus I like to stay light on my feet.

I was guessing that may be a problem...so feel free to wait until the end of the game for dinner. I'm pretty sure the non-softballers will want to eat sooner, though.

My entourage has decided to abandon me and I will be attending the first game alone. The 8 PM start is a bit late on a school night.
