Dreaming of a Bryan Reynolds Trade

Must be nice to be a team like the Padres or Dodgers where you can just sign or trade for anybody you want. Of course, it doesn’t mean poop if you don’t even make the playoffs.

The thing is, the Padres have a deep farm, so trading these guys won't empty them out, and they have deeper pockets for payroll. If the Brewers traded away those guys, they'd be very thin prospect-wise, and they would be adding to the glut of arby guys they have on the MLB roster. I already think it'll be hard to pay for everyone next year, and Reynolds would make the '23 arby raises all the more expensive. 

Ran this through Baseball Trade Values, and Kim has negative value (I didn't look at his contract, he's guaranteed $23M over the next three years). It'd be more like Mitchell and Turang, which seems low. If the aforementioned trade package is accurate, the Padres may be getting Reynolds a lot cheaper than I thought he'd go.

Ehh, Reynolds played in todays game,  The twitter guy who said the trade was in deep talks, also said Correa had signed a 10 year deal with the Yankees a few weeks ago.   If a deal was imminent or even somewhat close,  Reynolds wouldn’t be playing today.

So not our entire top 6 prospects and more. This is a deal the brewers could make. Easily.

Yep. Damn. On one hand I’m happy he isn’t going to the Padres, on the other hand I’m embarrassed myself and so many others fell for it.

It happens.  Sometimes they are really good at it and can make it believable especially if you don’t look back at their history.
