2022 spring training non-roster invitations of organizational players

the brewers invited five players who were already on minor league contracts for 2022 to major league spring training.

rhp luke barker

rhp josh lindblom

rhp luis perdomo

lhp ethan small

ss brice turang

the brewers have 19 non-roster invitees in 2022 spring camp.

if added to the 40-man roster, these are the number of minor league option years each player would have:

luke barker: 3

josh lindblom: 0 (he has been outrighted to the minor leagues before)

luis perdomo: 1 (he has been outrighted to the minor leagues before)

ethan small: 3

brice turang: 3

under the previous collective bargaining agreement, the brewers would not have been required to issue an opt-out clause to lindblom or perdomo at the end of spring training, as neither player finished the previous season on a major league roster or major league injured list and had at least six years of major league service time.

it is unknown if the new cba would've mandated an opt-out clause for either of those players.
