I highly doubt we are truly in on Cruz. He's a one dimensional player.

Though it would be great nostalgically, do we really need a guy who can't play defense.........at all?

Cruz just doesn't see like a Stearns signing.

Sounds like Brewers are interested in Cruz:

Stearns never had the full time DH slot to consider until now.

True, but again, Stearns doesn't typically like guys who can only play one position, and this isn't even really a position, it's hitting only.

I just can't imagine this happening given the fact that Stearns likes multi-position guys.

Without the need for double switches I could see a full time DH roster spot for a guy like Cruz…..and since we obviously are involved with him that tells you that Stearns is open to the idea.

My guess is it just depends on the money.

Stearns has also acquired guys like Vogelbach, Tellez, Cris Carter, etc.

The hot tub is smoking. Lots of veterans coming off the board.

Steve Cishek, Joe Kelly, Josh Harrison, Jose Iglesias, Luke Maile (former Brewer), Jeurys Familia, and Alex Colome all have signed today.

Former Brewer farmhand Miguel Diaz signed a minor league deal with Detroit.

I can attest first hand that Twins fans are currently running around with their hair on fire.

Twinkies have to have something bigger cooking on the stove, no? At face value, otherwise, these moves don't really make all that much sense.

It’s the only thing that makes sense, as the past 36 hours have been truly strange.

There are a handful of GMs in baseball that I feel like have a bit too much...arrogance I guess. The twins gm has struck me as one for a while, as has the Mariners gm. I believe it was the twins gm that traded for a player a year or two back only to "flip" him. That kind of stuff just isn't going to work how you want it to at this level against the 28 smartest people in baseball and Dave dombrowski.

I suspect the twins do have a grand plan, but I kinda expect it to be a lot of moving pieces with little to zero net gain. Just kinda doing stuff to do stuff. Just one guys opinion...

Not really a transaction for the hot tub aside from the fact it might be prescribed as part of rehabbing the injury, but it sounds like Tatis is out until AS Break time or so with a fractured wrist.  Not a great start for an organization that's under a good amount of pressure to win now with all the contract dollars shelled out and trade capital shipped away in recent years.  Meanwhile the Dodgers just print more $$ to maintain a super team.

I think the Mariners' arrogance was actually from the team president, who had to resign about a year ago. Dipoto is probably the flippiest of the flippers, but his strategy seems to be working given the #1 or #2 ranking of the Mariners' farm system. However, it could easily fall apart when the budget expands, as it did in San Diego.

I feel bad for the Twins more than anything...all that regular season success with zero postseason wins to show for it. And for some reason those futility streaks are especially tough to snap in baseball. It's definitely in the players' heads in the postseason.
