Whatever it is, I've assumed Rodgers made his decision a long time ago and that this one game doesn't factor into it.

That may be the case, but now it may be that Gute and company don't really care what Rodgers wants to do even if he does want to end his career here and just move on no matter what. I dunno, tough pill to swallow right now.

Rodgers was ready to move on after last season when we were one play away from the Super Bowl and had to be begged to return.

Fast forward one year to this horrific debacle and he'll want to spend the rest of his career here?

Absolutely not. He is done as a Packer.

Plus the front office basically bent over backwards for his every whim this season, and he repaid them with a Divisional exit and a bunch of totally unneeded drama along the way. The divorce is going to likely be amicable, but there are plenty of reasons on both sides,

For how different personality-wise Favre and Rodgers are, it is almost eerie how similar their Packers careers are ending. Get ready for an offseason of drama, culminating in Rodgers being dealt for what will probably be an underwhelming, disappointing return for many Packer fans.

If we get two 1sts I'll be extremely impressed. I think that's the ceiling and the floor is an early 2nd and a decent player or two.

I hope your kidding. You must not know how desperate nfl teams are for QBs. If gutey can’t get two ones a two and a starting player he should be fired.

He's 39 years old. The closest age/performance comp for a trade I can think of is none other than Brett Favre, and he went for a 3rd.

They are not getting two 1s plus a 2 plus a starter. They'll get a 1st, maybe more. It's not going to be this three 1s plus numerous players that people are dreaming of.

The early exit probably makes the offseason a lot less dramatic. Most fans are probably going to be well prepped for the likely trade. A lot less certain if they make a Super Bowl

So do they dump Adams too, gotta imagine the do? Or else you may just leak drama into next year too.

Well if this isn't fitting

I'm just curious while watching this. Does anyone have any idea why Barnes (51) is just hovering back about 5 yards? I understand that on a regular FG; but on a FG that you need to block, wouldn't it be better to have another guy coming off the edge or up the middle? That just kind of seems like giving up to me.

Farve didn’t win an mvp his last 2 seasons as a Packer. The nfl is a different game nowadays.

Adams is a free agent. But you would think that they almost have to franchise him so they can trade him. You can't let arguably the top WR in the NFL walk for nothing.

Judging individual players I tend to think requires film study to really evaluate the decisions they made. I saw a film study on Baker Mayfield recently, who tends to drift a lot to his left when he drops back. Watching live you'd think the O-Line was doing a terrible job when really it was Baker's fault. Or maybe the WRs ran terrible routes, or maybe the playcalling was just bad.

Is anybody actually rejoicing if Rodgers says tomorrow he wants to play in GB again?

I don't mean this at all as a shot to him, but who cares? It isn't working and they are in a mess financially. You gotta cut the cord and try something else at some point, don't you?

Tomorrow? No, because emotions of today’s loss being fresh. A few months from now everyone would be doing back flips off the Grand Canyon. Anyone not is basically a pessimist and probably miserable regardless of anything that happens and probably assume the Packers will always choke/disappoint.

Rodgers returning would be the best case for the team…but just not that realistic.

Right, I mean dump as in trade.

Adams has no reason to want to return, and they can't afford to franchise him. He's history.

To be honest, regardless of how this ended, I was always leery of a 3-4 year deal for a 30 year old WR anyway. If there's any upside to what just happened it's that the Packers may have gotten a get out of Aaron's jail free card on a bunch of moves they'd have been strong-armed into by their championship MVP QB.

He finished 2nd his last year, and Rodgers hasn't won it this year yet.

He's better than Favre was, and the return will be better, but I think you're going to be disappointed.

Everyone at 1265 Lombardi Ave.

I don't even buy that. I think there's a part of Brian Gutekunst that will never go public to anybody that is at least a little bit OK with tonight's events if it leads to a very easy Rodgers departure.

I'm sure MLF would love to have him back.

I'd already heard they plan on franchising him if he doesn't sign before that. I don't think it'd be a reach to figure that someone will offer at least a 1st to get him.

I think my darkhorse candidate to get Rodgers is gonna be Tennessee. Tannehill just doesn't cut the mustard, whatever that means, and Henry only has so many years left.

This is the best thing that could have happened. I’m sick of apologizing for being a Packers fan, which I never had to do until this year. Rodgers ruined this season for me, the Super Bowl wouldn’t have been fun, it would have been a controversy storm. The Internet is dunking all over Rodgers right now. Best of luck to him.

Jordan Love seems kinda boring. Not a lot of personality so far. Not controversial.

Sounds good to me.

That's mostly my point - after all the drama during the offseason and regular season and with how this fizzled so abruptly, it wouldn't surprise me for Rodgers to state he wants to remain in Green Bay the rest of his career but also say to Gute he needs to be paid like a back to back MVP should demanding one last mega contract. Something that Gute and the front office may have been entertaining had this year culminated with a title because the only way Rodgers could stay longterm would be signing a new deal that was structured in a way to significantly reduce the huge cap hit his current contract has for 2022....but after tonight, I can see the front office hoping Rodgers does indeed want to end things in Green Bay and gladly entertain trade offers and turn the page with a significant rebuild moving forward.

The job of a GM is to win games and go to the playoffs. I guarantee that Gutekunst has a helluva lot more job security with Rodgers than he does with Love.

No GM whose team was the #1 seed wants to tear it down. Ever.

The only way the Packers don't get a great return is if there's only one buyer. There's going to be more than one buyer.
