Yeah I’m in absolutely no mood to hear a defense of Rodgers after this one. I watched the game, too. I saw his oline fail on the right side repeatedly, and his wideouts struggle to get open. And the special teams cost us ten points. And, and, and…he’s an mvp. We needed 14 points against the worst secondary left in the playoff field, and it didn’t happen. He wears this one. Plain and simple.

All I got out of that is, “His team failed him, but I am still going to pin this loss on him, because I was going to regardless of how they lost.

I still see 10 total points in the losing column. Score more points and blocked kicks don't matter.

Plus another "good luck beating Green Bay in the cold weather" loss. I don't know why people keep saying that, but it hasn't been true for a decade now.

I don't know if it's been true since Michael Vick came up there and won a playoff game back in like 2002

Does beating ourselves count?

Conditions tonight weren't going to lead to a track meet - special team disasters were a 10 point swing in this game, which was more than enough when the offense turtles for mostly 3.5 quarters after that great start.

They had one solid drive that fizzled in the red zone because there was no faith in receivers not named Adams to make a play and the line couldn't pass protect long enough to let other routes potentially develop.

Nobody more than a casual fan believes anything about Lambeau mystique. Their pretty record was padded by not making the playoffs for 25 years and the fact that when they used to make it, they were Lombardi's Kings.

Once they were decent but nothing special they lost a whole bunch of games. It's meaningless. Honestly they've probably been a better indoor team for some time now.

Do people really still think that? I haven't thought that in a long time. Heck, I'd feel better in a dome. The Lambeau playoff mystique has been dead for a long time.

In the end, the defense failed too.

No touchdowns given up? What do they gotta do?

Yeah, defense was the only reason they weren't embarrassed.

I take that back. They were embarrassed. But having your defense only give up 6 points is going to get you a win probably 99% of the time.

I’ll be clearer then: the most talented quarterback to ever lace them up led two scoring drives and netted ten points. He did not even get a pass into the end zone in this game. There is no way to sugar coat that. He failed. He wasn’t the only one, but when you wear Superman’s cape, you gotta be better than ten points at home against a suspect team. End of story.

So you want to ignore him leading the team the length of the field before half in under 60 seconds for his offensive line to fold like tissue paper…and then his ST blow a FG kick? We going to ignore his offensive line just wasn’t that good?

The Packers offense played good enough to win, the defense did too. The special teams did not. Blew scoring 3 points and then gave up 7 points. That is really what the game comes down to.

In the end, the defense failed too. Should have never come to that, I know. But withe the weather at it's worst SF marched down into FG range. Loss isn't on them, but that still did happen.

That 3rd and 7 run for a 1st was painful, especially seeing Jaire not make a play to force a fg attempt 10 yds longer there. Not entirely sure why he's in coverage in that spot instead of a DB with a better shot at making a solid tackle there, but Savage was out so it may have just set up that way.

They gave up 6 mother humping points. What do you want ?

There were individual plays that were bad, the Kittle catch and Jaire not tackling Deebo on 3rd down, but you honestly could have not asked for a better defensive performance.

Lots of blame to go around, but none on the defensive side tonight.

The third down run by Samuel right before the field goal would be the one exception.

Too bad a bunch of those guys on defense are likely gone next year. Lowry, Campbell, the Smiths, Douglas and maybe even Amos won't be back. Salary cap purgatory coming up.
