Jones runs OB when he probably shouldnt. Then stays in boumds when he should have just raced along sideline. And FG block? We seen this the first 5 games in year and said some point the guy will block it. But he could have caught that so was he offsides? How is it possible to be standing not diving to block a FG from edge? Oof on opportunities.

I would like to see a breakdown of that as well. Probably whoever was supposed to block him either ignored him or whiffed huge.

That is horrible, not sure if Jones wouldn't have just sprinted he would have scored. Just knew after that fumble we would miss it. Special teams are now front and center if we blow this, holy crap how predictable. Ugh, time to start drinking, this is the game SF wanted.

The worst case scenario would have been our last timeout preserved with the ball in the red zone and 25 seconds to operate. If you're not going to score, at least get out of bounds. Just bad judgment in the moment.

Jones would have been tackled but he definitely lost yards by doing whatever he was doing there.

Cost yards and our last TO. If we have a TO left the playbook is wide open. The way it was the routes had to all be into the end zone, which takes time, and we end up with the fumble.

alright well as long as SF doesn't run this back and we can hold them to a three and out It will be ok

I wish Jones would have just kept running straight instead of trying to juke that last dude probably gets another five or six yards

I thought that too, but when I watched the replay, Jones’ loses all of his momentum when he re-adjusts to catch the ball and he would have surely been run down by a pursuing DB. He probably should have aimed for the sideline.

Earlier this week, I mentioned I thought this was a 50/50 game. Some thought that was a bit pessimistic on my part. I guess I’m just conditioned for playoff disappointment and am trying to manage my own expectations. I think the Packers are the better team, but I could easily see one or more of the following happen that sway things in favor of SF:

- Slow Start (3 or < points in Q1)

- Special Teams TO or Allowed TD

- Defense Allows TD right before Halftime

- Deebo Samuel Rush TD or 40-Yard Rush

- Missed FG

I know these things could happen to any team on any week, but I feel like they’re especially likely to happen to the 2021 Packers (aside from maybe the TD right before halftime; 2011 and 2020 still haunt me). If the Packers can avoid 4 out of 5 of these miscues, I think they win.

So far, we only hit one on my checklist of doom.

They dont block that outside guy. They stated the time to reach a block position from the edge should be split second slower than timing for snap hold and FG kick. Of course if you bunch in real close well that edge isnt as far from blocking. I just think he has to time to snap and be offsides for him to be where he was on that block. Nothing about snap hold left the feeling of delay.

Lastly not one camera view down the line til just now. So wasnt the edge. Whiff edge block. Ffs

of course the block was Lancaster's fault

Unbelievably putrid, embarrassing half by our offense and special teams units.

And they still did better than the 49ers.
