Jerry Rice fumbled.

Ha! I considered that photo but Packers lost that game.

If the photo is the game I think it was ('95 Divisional) I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 8 years old and my family watched it from a hotel in GB. We went to the HOF the day before. I think we were a 10-point underdog and went up 21-0. That play pictured was one of the first ones of the game on a screen to #27. Think it ended up 27-17 but really was a beat down. It was a bit of a changing of the guard in the NFC; Dallas won the SB but after that season neither DAL or SF got back for a while. We knocked SF out 3 straight seasons before the fumble game. Yup.

Here is that play:

I forgot GB actually had the ball first andwent down and missed a FG. I thought this was the opening drive of the game.

My nightmare scenario for this game is really a ST disaster that breaks it wide open. We're down 7-0 and muff a punt at the 10, etc. If the Packers come out really sluggish and we see the GB ST greatest hits, it can unravel if they're just pinned back waiting for Rodgers the entire game. I'd be fine with a game plan that's "we don't field punts today."

Hopefully David Moore is recovered and back up as the lead KR/PR for this game. He seemed sure-handed and sound back there, albeit in a very small sample.

When I think about hosting the 49ers in a divisional round game it brings up a somewhat painful memory of 1/4/97.

Not regarding the game itself, but the fact that I had the opportunity to go watch the Badgers beat the Hoosiers coached by Knight in The Fieldhouse for the last time that day. I struggled with the choice and chose stay home to watch the Packers because I was nuts about them.

Garappolo still has a bum thumb/hand. I'm guessing the cold weather won't help his grip.

Fred Warner already said he'll be good to go for Saturday. While you never know with concussions, I'd guess we'll see Bosa too.

If Bosa isn’t back in practice by Wednesday he is probably out, it seems like guys get right back or they are out a week. Hard to believe Warner will be anywhere near 100%.

Indeed. He is a returner - something we lacked the entire season.

He was taken off the COVID list and elevated to the active roster last week. The hope is, the greater staff recognizes his talents and the dire need for his assuredness and professionalism in the return game. I know we do!

This game still ranks in my top 5 all time favorite Packer games.

That game is #1 for me in some ways. SB wins were awesome, of course, bu that playoff game was the break-through game after 30 years or whatever of suffering. You felt at the time that game basically was the Super Bowl, finally beating the Niners, and they would roll from there and get a ring. I just remember watching at a bar with a few guys, and that place exploded when Wayne Simmons made that stick. It was definitely THE return to glory game.

Good - id rather face a gimpy Warner than his solid backup replacement in cold weather on a short week for them.

He is going to suit up and try playing unless his ankle is detached. Doesn't mean he is going to be effective.

Yeah that pretty much sums up how I feel too. The 1993 Wild Card against the Lions gives me the same vibe to a lesser degree. Another top 5 game for me.

He also apparently has a shoulder sprain but is expected to play. Sounds like they expect Bosa to bounce back quick as well.

How do you "bounce back" from a concussion, though? Protocol is the same no matter the severity. With the short week it's going to be tough for him to clear the hurdles he needs to clear.

But I expect Bosa to play, in the same manner that the NFL had no new COVID positives yesterday. Because stars playing brings more eyes to TV broadcasts.

I am guessing maybe they can tell the severity and maybe he has been back quick from concussions before? I know in the past with players they say expected to clear protocol even before they do.

Todays injury report:

Limited - Jaire and MVS

Full - Turner,Jones,Rodgers,Campbell

DNP - Bakh

Getting Turner back is a big boost, Jaire still limited sort bothers me. Bahk on load management. Other players Z,Mercilus,Cobb still on IR but practiced. MLF says hopeful for Z and jaire to play, would be ecstatic if Mercilus played.
