I found this interesting the Dodgers, Brewers and Marlins all signed 30 or more all other teams were around 20 or less with some signing far less. League average was around 16 per team. The Brewers, Dodgers and Marlins accounted for 22% of all of the signings in the league which is crazy. There were 6 teams that signed less than 10 players and there were 2 teams who signed less than 5 players the A's(4) and White Sox(3). There were 16 teams that signed less than 15 players. Only 6 teams signed 20 or more players which accounted for almost 40% of the signings this year.

It looks like the Brewers, Dodgers and Marlins all have the same strategy on signing international players using their bonus pool money.

Some of this I imagine is because the Brewers are one of the organizations that has the maximum number of complex teams. Also, while 33 represents a bigger signing class than usual for Milwaukee, I wonder if it is partially a case of semantics. The number of hitters is pretty consistent with, if not slightly lower than, the last two years (especially in the outfield). The big difference is in the number of pitchers, and while I believe it would have been slightly higher than last year regardless, it might have been made larger by announcing a lot of the signings of "older" pitchers along with the rest instead of having word of those signings trickle in throughout the offseason as I think they have in the past.

I have no problem with being lumped in with those two organizations when it comes to international signing strategies.

The Jesse Sanchez Brewers int'l. draft class article now includes bonus $ for all 33 signed. Three over a million, four others in six figures. 20 got $10,000, one $5,000 (c'mon, get him his 10K!).

Appears team has $192,800 left from its $5,721,500 pool

Looks like the remaining money may be going to Yunior Santiesteban per the below Tweet from Francys Romero:

Romero also posted some video of Santiesteban in April and as you can see from the picture and might be even more evident in the video, he is a very skinny dude. But the tools are pretty interesting.

And last, but not least Romero wrote a short article on him as well. If you don't know Spanish, you're going to need Google Translate, but it appears to translate pretty well. He ran a 6.4-6.6 time in the 60 yard dash which is elite by pretty much any standard. ARTICLE LINK
