Steve Karsay stepping down - REPORT

This was online yesterday but just saw it now. Its a big blow to the team as the pen has been great under his leadership. looks like Matt Erickson could be back in a brewers uniform though, as an assistant hitting coach.

Good on him for putting family first though. Article mentions Jim Henderson as a possible candidate

From all reports he was a co-pitching coach. The pen has been stellar since his arrival. I would think he had at least something to do with that. Yes, I'm sure there won't be this massive drop-off because he leaves, but I wouldn't completely dismiss this either.

Brewers coaching news: Jim Henderson is bullpen coach, Matt Erickson is infield/assistant hitting coach.

Henderson comes from Triple-A Nashville to replace Steve Karsay, who left to spend more time with family, per club. Erickson spent last 11 years as Class-A Wisconsin manager

Brewers also announced Daniel Vega as assistant strength and conditioning specialist. Vega, who came from Cardinals organization, replaces Jason Meredith, who became the organization’s rehabilitation strength and conditioning coach in Arizona.

The bullpen was usually similarly stellar when Lee Tunnell was the bullpen coach. In the big picture, the Brewers' bullpen has been really good under at least a couple straight pitching coaches. Heck, for the most part, the Brewers have had a good bullpen, good bullpen coaches, and a great track record for helping unheralded guys find big league success going back to Bill Castro's long tenure as the bullpen coach.
