I've been one of the bigger Crosby defenders around here, but I'm fully looking forward to moving on to a new place kicker next season. Crosby has already had one big bounce back in his career, and I really don't want to have to try and see if he can regain reliability a 2nd time - its rare enough for a kicker to succeed with the same team after getting a 2nd chance. Factor in diminishing leg strength that leads to far too many kickoff returns against a perennially poor ST unit, and I just want to see new blood.

Question - if he opts to retire, does any dead cap space get reduced to zero for 2022? Or will it be the same impact on the cap figure if they just cut him?

I believe retirement is treated the same as a cut for cap purposes. I believe Drew Brees restructured his contract prior to retiring last offseason for that reason.

Rodgers sure does have a bad attitude about everyone having the opportunity for the Rodgers rate. He's gotta be the biggest jerk in the league.

I heard from a source close to Boomer Esiason that Hub didn’t qualify for the Rodgers rate, which is why he’s so salty.

Yes this is a meaningless game, but it would be nice if the defense at least looked like they care.

Other than last week they have been sort of bad down the stretch but as always I will find a way to believe they won't let us down in the end. Hopefully this year is different, Jaire coming back would be huge.

The Post Season Destiny I am preparing for as a lifelong Packers fan is One of Two things:

(1) A Mason Crosby shanked 23-25 yard game-winning fg attempt in the final seconds at home in the NFCCG hard and true off an upright

(2) A muffed punt by Amari Rogers in the final minutes preventing A-Rod a chance at marching down the field to win a game (inevitably, and inexplicably, giving the A-Rod doubters and critics another chance to overstate their case of "See! He isn't clutch!")

One of these outcomes seems the inevitable destiny for Packer fans worldwide. I am preparing for it well in advance. I have seen too many amazing choke jobs in crucial games by our beloved organization. This year, it would appear the Vegas odds would greatly favor a ST gaffe of some sort.

Pretty crazy the defense is 7th in PPG entering the game while the offense is only 10th in PPG.

A lot of that is tied up in the Packers ball control strategy. They've had the 3rd fewest drives on offense as a result of having the longest average drive time. This keeps the defense off the field too as they've had the 4th fewest drives against.

The D has really only laid six eggs this year: Week 1 (NO 38), Week 3 (SF 28), Week 11 (MIN 34), Week 12 (LAR 28), Week 14 (CHI 30) and Week 15 (BAL 30).
