Road America in Elkhart Lake also hosted the NASCAR Cup Series (top level) for the first time since 1956.

Yeah, I'll say this is the best year I've experienced. Depending on how you feel about college sports, you could maybe make a case for 2000. Rose Bowl win and MBB Final Four in a 4-month span.

 

Most other teams were bad that year, though.

Not being an NBA fan takes a lot of the fun out of the year for me. Volleyball was really fun to watch though. There was something about that 1997 Super Bowl experience that still holds a lot of bonus points even if a lot of the other teams weren't quite there.

The only way this year ranks #1 or even in someone's Top 5 is if you are a bucks fan. The Packers year was just plain depressing because they lost the NFC Championship again to most people and the Brewers year, while nice, wasn't overly special since they have started stringing together extended success.

 

2011 should honestly be the runaway winner. You had a Packers Super Bowl win, which I would argue may have been a more special/impressive run than the Bucks. I mean, the expectation for the Bucks was to win it all...anything short was a failure. I mean without a half crippled Nets team to face they might not even make the finals. When that Packers team went into the playoffs they were a WC that had to win every game on the road. Rodgers was still unproven in the playoffs so the result for that year was wide open. You then had the Brewers awesome division title and NLDS win, a Badgers Rose Bowl appearance, Badgers Sweet 16.

 

Of course, that is just my thoughts....obviously this kind of thing is really subjective to what you care about as far as the sports go.

Right, it’s a pretty subjective matter.

 

Even if one just looked through the eyes of someone who is a fan of every team evenly in the state, I don’t think it is anywhere near 2011. In my opinion.

I always view the NFL post season as part of the previous year so Packers SB win would make 2021 the best. By calendar year the loss to the Bucs makes 2021 a hard no, how can it be the best when something that bad happened? I did enjoy the Bucks title much more than I would have thought though, that was a blast.

I'm almost a lifelong Bucks fan, and just like the Brewers, I had nearly reached the point where seeing a title was pretty much a pipedream, a "not gonna happen". Giannis blossomed and then it became a possibility, and then they crapped out in both of their 1-seed seasons. Watching them come from down 2-0 against the nets, that epic game 7 (shut up about the toe), losing Giannis against the Hawks, coming back from down 2-0 again, and Giannis having the best close out game in finals history, as a fan of the Bucks since I was a wee lad in grade school when it was Sidney Moncrief and Terry Cummings and Paul Pierce and Alton Lister? Yeah, that's a top of my lifetime sports memory.

 

I've seen a Packers super bowl win. 2011 was a pretty awesome playoff run, but I've seen a Super Bowl win.

 

2011 was a fun Brewers season, but that choke job in the NLCS has left a permanent sour taste in my mouth. Just brutal.

 

21. The Bucks are champs. The Packers were good. The Brewers were good. Trifecta for me. Packers might run to the SB.

2008? Brewers finally make the postseason again and Rodgers has a pretty darn good first year starting leading to hope he was a legit replacement? Bucks and Badgers football was really lame though.

From a narrative standpoint the Bucks multi year evolution over the Giannis/Khris years culminating not only in winning a Championship, but how they went about doing it, was just immensley satisfying. Molitor/Yount are first ballot no doubt HOF, Favre/Rodgers are all time great QBs, but Giannis is on a whole other level above that. A global superstar & good will ambassador...in Milwaukee.

 

If the Brewers winning a World Series is going to feel better than that, I can only hope I stick around long enough to find out.

 

I also think being one of the final four teams standing in the NFL two years in a row is much more of an accomplishment than it is a failure. Hopefully the MLF Packers can pay it off the third time around like the Bud Bucks did.

Yeah I guess since the Super Bowl for the 2010 season was played in 2011 that year makes sense. I kinda forget that sometimes when looking back.

I agree. If anything, you might even be selling 2019 a little short on its glory. All of the major sports teams for Wisconsin had good years. Everyone was relevant. There were a lot of really fun moments in 2019. I had a good time.

 

For the Brewers (89-73) there was the return of Craigtember, somehow going 20-7 for the month despite losing Yelich on the 10th. What a ride that was.

 

Badger football (10-4) played OSU tough in the B10 title game, went and had a tough Rose Bowl losing to the Ducks by 1. We got to watch Jonathan Taylor be Jonathan Taylor all season. Fortunately for me I missed the Illinois game.

 

Packers (13-3) Great start to LaFleur's tenure, especially after the wet fart of a season they were coming off of.

 

I pay a lot less attention to the NBA than I do the other sports on this list, but the Bucks (60-22) in Budenholzer's first year obviously had a great season.

 

Badger basketball (23-11) 4th in Big 10, lost in the first round. Remember though, this was coming off the '17-'18 season where they missed the tournament and were sub .500 for the first time in 20 years, when the fire Gard talk was running wild. That season was reassurance that the program was going to be in good shape. [sarcasm]It was just a warmup for their NCAA championship the following season[/sarcasm]
