Some people had viewed Kyle Seager as a possible option for the Brewers in 2022. Well, that can end. Seager has announced his retirement.

Seager - who just turned 34 last month - hit 35 HR last year - but had a .212 BA. He still managed 2.0 bWAR, despite the low average.

In 11 years (all with Seattle), he ends up with 242 HR, almost 1400 hits, and .251 BA, an all-star appearance, and a gold glove. He made about $100M in his career - so all in all - you can't say he didn't do pretty well for himself.

Decent career for a bad team. They're different types of players, but it's kind of like what could have happened if the Brewers had extended Jeff Cirillo for 8 years / $100M+ back in the late 90's.

"The most successful (people) know that performance over the long haul is what counts. If you can seize the day, great. But never forget that there are days yet to come."
