Via the Walkin' Off Podcast: Another Antoine Kelly interview

I've listened to Fernando Castro's interviews previously, but was caught off-guard here as to how unfamiliar he was with Kelly's background. Just a little pre-chat research would have helped.

EDIT: Fernando indicated that he will sometimes ask questions that may give the appearance that he is unaware of common knowledge. In doing so, I can't say I agree with that "strategy", but he indicates other interviews are forthcoming, including newly-signed minor league free agent RH reliever Hobie Harris.

Extended December interview with INF/OF Noah Campbell (Mudcats '21)

Campbell, very-well spoken, details his baseball journey from youngster to his debut season in the Brewers system, a season played basically in his backyard.

Interesting story on how he and Milwaukee navigated the $20,000 bonus limit for players signed after the five-round 2020 pandemic draft (medical school future coverage).

Fun story about how he prepared to play all nine positions in the season finale (had never caught before).

Just the latest Brewer farmhand to learn about via these long-form conversations.

Brief workout and discussion VIDEO begins at the 00:50 second mark.

Rooting for all the farmhands, Andre Nnebe has work to do, hadn't realized his K rate was nearly 47% in 203 AB's in his part-time role with the Mudcats last year.

This is the age 24 season coming up for Milwaukee's 28th round pick in 2019 out of Santa Clara University.

Yeah, the 'Shuckin' Around' podcast - for being entirely new - has been incredible. These interviews are lights out good. VERY very in-depth questions. He is wonderful. The in depth analysis of Ethan Small prior to his interview was already very intriguing. Can't wait to hear the interview 1 v 1. That share about thinking Small's changeup was a curve due to its massive difference in speed was hilarious.

This interview is must watch for the Brewer aficionado. Smallsy has an incredibly good head on his shoulder. I came away highly impressed. They had a great dive into what the process of getting to the Dominican League was like and what it's like down there for a youngster - first time facing highly evolved bats, short leashes, and fast-paced Spanish slang. He describes seeing the bullpen up after 10 pitches into a Start after giving up a lead off double. :laughing

Separately, outstanding video interview addendum here: Wiemer breaks down specific at-bats
