MLB Caught Using 2 Different Baseballs This Past Season

Presumably very few people would have known ahead of time which balls were to be used in which games, but theoretically anyone who did have that knowledge could have had a really nice advantage for making over/under bets? Seems a bit crooked.

It'd be interesting to know if they were completely random or not. It's bad enough to use two different baseballs, but it's a whole 'nother level if they, for instance, used one ball when a certain pitcher was throwing, or when certain teams were playing.

I didn't read it yet but wasn't it basically known that the Dyersville IA game was using a juiced ball?

That makes sense. Putting two power hitting teams in a little league stadium won't lead to enough offense, so let's juice the ball.

I think it'll be interesting to see how many people actually care about this. A lot of people are saying they're angry about it, or that MLB is crooked, but is the viewership numbers or attendance numbers going to take a hit because of it? That's the only thing that's going to make a difference.

Players might dig in during the lockout because of it. I doubt fans will care.
