Green Bay Rockers

missed in the Beloit News, Green Bay's northwoods league has changed names after only 3 seasons as the Booyah.

I must say its an improvement to what they had (but that is not saying much since previously they were named for stew)

This one is pretty lame.

The team changed ownership during the pandemic. Big Top Baseball, which owns several other Northwoods League teams (including the Madison Mallards) sold off the Booyah to the owner of Festival Foods. The new name apparently reflects the owner’s desire to bring more concerts to the ballpark, but the it has no other connection to Green Bay. I still prefer the original name they used from 2006-2018 (‘Bullfrogs’). It fit the wildlife theme the league had going for awhile.

that i do agree on, should have kept the bullfrogs.

also looking at the league, they are pretty much the only team that does not have a outdoors theme nickname.

Bullfrogs was preferred because their slogan "Grip it and ribbit" was awesome.

The new owner owns the new Epic Event Center nearby, which is trying to host small-venue rock concerts. Now he'll use the ballpark essentially as an outdoor concert venue. He rebranded the team as a tie-in, which is very lame and not punk rock at all.

I would say it is very punk rock right now. Most punk rock now is just corporate garbage also known as pop punk rock.
