Either the Brewers really like Mejia as a long-term pen arm, and not just an organizational guy with a slight chance of making the team, or they view Fry as the type who is only going to top out as a AAAA-type player. Otherwise this doesn't make a ton of sense.

He had a LOT of domination in the minors, prior to 2019.

Definitely could be a good multi-inning fireman. But man, first Hummel, now Fry... those were guys who could have really contributed to the Crew, IMO.

Yeah, I know those versatile bat-first guys are your boys. Probably doesn't bode real well for Weston Wilson's and especially Thomas Dillard's future with the Brewers.

Even in a universal DH major leagues, Fry, Hummel, Wilson, etc., probably make more sense on the bench than guys who can't hit.

I think both are true.

If Fry could be a starting C, instead of a 3rd-catcher/utility type, he'd have a lot more value.

Not to the Brewers. They obviously dig versatility and guy who can play defense. Makes me wonder why they even drafted guys like Fry and Dillard.
