Very cool, I was pretty convinced the national media was going to find a way to give it to someone else. That said each of the other candidates were deserving. Good for Corbin.

Well deserved. I was afraid that the voters were going to mess this up and give it to Scherzer. Delighted that Burnes won, and also happy that they gave Wheeler 2nd. I would've been OK with Wheeler winning, pitching so many more innnings with not much worse numbers is impressive. But Scherzer barely pitched more than Burnes, and Burnes underlying metrics crushed him.

Ditto. Thrilled for Burnes and glad that it really did come down to him and Wheeler. While they weren't the biggest names, those were the two best pitchers in the NL (and really all of the MLB) last season.

Congratulations to Corbin Burnes! Great to see a Brewers pitcher win a Cy Young Award again. (Still a little strange to think of the Brewers’ strength being dominant pitching, even starting pitching.)

It’s been quite the ride so far for Burnes: 2018 debut as a mid-season call up reliever; horrendous 2019 leading to demotion; bounce-back short season in 2020; Cy Young Award winner in 2021. Looking forward to what else he does in Milwaukee.

THis is amazing! first one of my life, which makes it sad and highlights how awful the pitching has been for the 36 years of my life. I would offer him a large contract with an opt out at 5 years. paired with peralta (maybe a reworked extension) it could really open up a ton of possibilities to stay competitive long term.

Totally agree! Build rotation around Burnes and Peralta.
