Schefter saying 1 - 2 weeks for Jones.

So most likely get him back after the bye.

Jones has MCL histories with knees, so I'd imagine his prognosis isn't a cut and dry 3-4 weeks...optimistically that would be the timetable, but I'd imagine it might be a bit longer until we see him back on the field. Still better than a season-ender though.

Also depends on the severity of the sprain. Not all strains are equal. Given that Jones never went into the locker room for an MRI or other closer analysis, I'd take it to be on the less severe side.

The Packers' medical staff let him stay on the sideline for the rest of the game, then Randall Cobb gave him a piggyback ride into the locker room following the game. That tells me that while he may miss a little time, they aren't overly concerned.

What's the timetable for both of those injuries?

I'd guess at least 3 or 4 weeks for Jones...and that's a total guess.

Gary still needs an MRI to determine the severity.

According to reports this morning, Gary wants to wear a brace on his elbow, and may not even miss one game. Will still have an MRI tomorrow, but overall that is a good development.

Hopefully Gary was more of a scare than anything serious and it sounds like they think maybe it was. Giannas was out just a week or so with his knee in the playoffs, can't remember a hyperextended elbow or how long that should take found this on some webmd site:

Recovery times can range from several days to several weeks. The time it takes depends on the treatments used and how severe the injury is. Most people recover within 3 to 4 weeks.

The Packers stock sale starts tomorrow. $300 per share plus processing fees. People who bought stock in 1997 or 2011 are limited to a max of 200 shares, so this is obviously a different class of shares than the variety last issued in the 50s. Those families have no interest in giving up their board seats. That’s poor corporate governance if you ask me, but I’m still going to buy a share. :tongue

It will be interesting to see how they will they sell, the last 2 sales were after SB wins so I expected them to wait and see if they won it all this year. But I am sure they did their research and maybe the uncertainty of Rodgers long term made them decide now when they are winning and interest is high is as good a window as they may get for a while. But who knows, Packers are super popular in the state, it could be the can raise 90 million any time they want.

I thought the timing of the stock sale was odd, but you make a good point about it coinciding with Rodgers’ (possible) final year. This may be the peak of the Packers’ popularity for awhile. That’s a little depressing when you think about it.

Anyone else seeing parallels between this year and 2010?

1. Multitude of injuries.

2. Defense pitches a shutout. (Jets 9-0)

3. Defense playing really well.

[sarcasm]It’s like they’re calling their shot with the stock sale.[/sarcasm]

We are missing a couple of injury plagued losing streaks, maybe coming up next?

Someone needs to freak out about IR guys not being included in the team photo, although this Packers’ team has had more than its fair share of drama this year.

Man, the loss of Mercilus really stings. He was a really really nice rotational rusher. Rushing him, Gary, Clark and Smith was really problematic for opposing OLines. I am bummed.

Our secondary is going to be ridiculous if Jaire gets back in the time. BUT, we need Gary playing and we absolutely need to find another Vet capable of producing on pass rushing downs. If I am Gutey, I am definitely checking in w Olivier Vernon to see how his rehab has progressed. Just really a Stinker for Mercilus and the Packers.

Hopefully Za'Darius is inching closer to a return. Garvin has flashed a bit on a few of his rushes as well.

This has been discussed and I'm not a shareholder nor will I ever be ... but I don't think anyone is a sucker. People know exactly what they are getting. It's not like they are claiming the piece of paper to be anything more than it is. I'm glad enough people are willing to do this that it keeps the Packers healthy and thriving. It's just one of the reasons a place like GB has a professional sports team; it's pretty endearing to me when there are places the size of Miami and Phoenix that can't fill stadiums.

$300 for a piece of paper...a sucker is born every day. They can make up to $90mil in return for some minimal printing costs. lol

As a Green Bay native, I view it as a civic duty.

The stock sales in 1923, 1935, and 1950 saved the team. The one in 1997 helped with the much needed renovation. I’m not sure how badly new video boards are needed, but I trust the Packers’ leadership to invest the proceeds wisely, beautify the Stadium District, and draw visitors to Green Bay. It’s the cost we pay to remain a major league city and, unlike a tax, it’s voluntary.
