Looks like the conversation about Iowa State not being a good shooting team got so focused upon that it was forgotten that neither are the Badgers.

And it was also apparently forgotten that ISU was 10th in the nation in defensive efficiency, and held many other tournament teams to less than 60 points as well.

Their defense forced UW to play poorly, just like many other teams they played.

I was a transfer student myself*, so even many years later, I know the feeling of realizing the first school choice wasn't the right one.

*Not with an athletic scholarship.  Since I'm certain you all were wondering that.  ?

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Ben Carlson is the second Badger to announce he is transferring.  Not sure how big of a loss it is but the front court depth takes another hit.  Hope the Badgers are able to land some quality transfers of their own, there are plenty of options out there.

I was thinking midseason who would replace Davis and Davison in starting lineup next year and thought Bowman and Carlson were most likely. But here we are now with a pack of available schollies too late in the recruiting cycle. I guess grad transfers may be a way of life now.

Lower D1 programs will now become minor league feeders for upper level programs and 1/3 roster turnover will be the norm.

It sort of brings a different spin on "one and done."  Now, it not only applies to players going pro after one year, but it could mean entering the portal.

One thing that is exciting is I believe Wisconsin is one of the upper-level programs.  Quite a turnaround after the 80's and prior.  I hear so many Badger fans talk about a lack of respect.  We will see who comes to the program through the portal.

I wonder how Bo Ryan would have fared with things like they are now

Tyrese Hunter, who was Kamari McGee's teammate in high school, has entered the transfer portal.  Surprised by this since he was freshman of the year in the Big 12 at Iowa State.  Probably more likely to go to Marquette since the Badgers seem to be set at point guard.

I really have no issues with the one-time transfer waiver. I know it makes coaches' lives a lot harder, and I empathize with that, but it also makes it easier to rebuild.

Plus, I think NIL has brought more roster stability to the sport overall. There are certainly drawbacks to the current system, but, on balance, I'd say it's better than the alternative, which is locking guys into a decision they made at 17.

Tickets for the Brew City Battle are ridiculously high for a decent seat. I cant believe the demand is going to fill it at these prices.

I assume it's demand-based pricing, since that's what the Brewers do.  Any idea how quickly the prices adjust for unsold seats?

It's nice to get guys that you've targeted early...especially if he is from the Twin Cities and his Dad is a UofM alum....and played basketball for the Gophers.... and his mom is an alum...and the Gophers recruited him hard....lol

That said, I hope he is more Tyler Wahl or Nate Reuvers than Ben Carlson or Alex Illikainen.  Good get, anyways.
