Well, it was a fun season.  Sucks that chuckie got hurt, because that changed the game majorly.  Takes some of the sting of the loss away at least.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Yeah...never thought I'd see a team out-Wisconsin Wisconsin. Iowa State did. I mean, that's life in March.

As Adam and Homer said, you lose Chuckie and go 2 for forever from three, you lose.

Crowl being unable to become a reliable jump shooter really hurt this team all year. They really need a threat from 3 beyond Davison.

Yes, I'm disappointed.  But like others have mentioned, I need to remember how much they exceeded expectations.

I went to Madison when it was a big thing to make it to the NIT... which they finally did.  I would have never thought they would have had the continued success they are having now.  Yes, the expectations are higher (as they should be), but it is a far cry from what it was in the late 80's / early 90's.

That same attitude applies to:

  • Wisconsin Football
  • Brewers Baseball
  • Bucks Basketball

Believe it or not... these are the good ole' days.

On, Wisconsin!

Think UW will need to pick up something in the transfer market, have Vogt, Crowl, and Carlsen take a big step forward, or both.

Jordan Davis will get a lot of minutes (any possibility he transfers?). Chuckie will be the leader. Wahl is the ultimate glue guy.

They'll have some nice pieces, but somebody is gonna have to score.

When the deficit reach eight the first time, I figured the game was over.  No indications that a comeback was possible.  With Colgate, once the threes dried up the Badgers had it.

Personally, I don't think Iowa State played that great a game.  A lot of missed shots and some poor ball handling.  I thought Colgate played a better game.

How much did Chuckie's absence really hurt?  They were playing poorly before the injury.

Well, Wisconsin was everyone's pick for an upset and today showed why.  A bit disappointed, but not too surprised.

Didn’t read every post, but does anyone know why Vogt played so little (if any) in the 2nd half? So weird not seeing him spell Crowl, who was just bad consistently over the last month. Vogt at least plays big down low on D… scores on dunks and layups too.

Average Chuckle wins this game.

Well I'm sad this season came to an end last night.  I was hoping they'd make it to the second weekend.  This team was really fun to watch all season.  Took our boys to their first Badger game this year and my wife and I went to another one.  Seemed like we were more invested in this team than we have been in several years.  So it hurts even more to see the season come to an end.

I think Davis is gone and I'll really miss watching him play for the Badgers.  I personally will miss Davison.  He came in and quickly got a bad reputation, and partially deserved.  But I think he saw that those cheap things weren't ok, and I think for the most part stopped doing it the last two years.  The problem is, the kid hustles and gives it his all every game, so when he goes diving for a ball and runs in to another player, most people think it's another cheap shot.  I didn't see that from him anymore.  He gave so much to this program, and that's what I'll remember him for.

I love Wahl.  He's been my favorite player to watch the last couple years.  He does all the little things and really has developed in to a legit scorer.

Chucky has settled in to being a heck of a pg.  Hopefully he can take another step forward with his scoring next year.  I think he will.

Ben Carlson.  I've got high hopes for him.  I have a friend that is a coach in Woodbury who knows one of his high school coaches well.  He said Ben is a great kid and one of the hardest workers he has ever been around.  I think he's tough out on the floor and I think he's going to be a key to our team next year.  He needs to build confidence at this level.

Do we have any shooters on the bench, or coming in next year?  Really could use someone to knock down threes in the clutch.

Good season Badgers!

Coach said the incoming guard Essegian (sp?) is an elite shooter.  No idea if he will be physically ready to play his freshman year though.

Yeah, I think a lot will depend on Carlsen. How big of a jump can he make? Is he closer to Happ or Reuvers?

Then, it's maybe Jordan Davis (is he a surprise transfer candidate?), who has the athleticism to be a player in the Big Ten. If success can be sustained by internal improvement, it's those two guys, I think. Crowl to a lesser degree. Wahl is gonna be Wahl, and that's good.

Externally, it's transfers. 2/3 types.

Good news is: Chuckie's already a PG. When you have a guy like him, you're starting from a solid foundation.

Perhaps somebody more athletic and with some muscle to them?  Vogt was the only one who wouldn't get pushed around during a rebound.  Up those calories, boyz!!!!!
