Glad I was working so didn’t see it. That said, I am always kind of meh on the B10 tourney. Cool if they win but nothing disappoints me. I love exceeding expectations in the dance and deep runs. Conference championship is a big deal for me too.

Second this. Badgers need rest and to not play more B1G teams. So physical. I think they're going to be one of the toughest teams in the field. Make us a 4 with UCONN or LSU and let's Sweet 16 this.

I hope for a 3 or 6 seed. I know it doesn't make sense, but I think they'd make the Sweet 16 with either of those seeds and could easily lose in the first round as a 4 or 5 seed.

Well, it isn't so much that the odds would say that, it's more that the odds of being very disappointed are much higher as a 4 or 5 seed than a 3 or 6 seed...

Yeah, the gap between 14 and 13 seeds is pretty big.

That said, Wisconsin usually gets upset when they play major conference 12 seeds (Oregon, Ole Miss come to mind). I just don't see them losing to a team like UAB, for example (and UAB is really good). The Badgers are so disciplined possession by possession, it just takes almost perfect basketball for an undersized team to win. A lot of elite bluebloods have good D efficiency numbers, but it's based on length and athleticism. The Badgers play very together, and that makes them really tough outs for teams that aren't old, cohesive, and big.

Of course, Virginia lost to UMBC once, so what do I know. I'll say this: give me South Dakota St. or Chattanooga any day over Notre Dame or something.

Davis 3 of 19. Ouch.

I don’t see him being a good NBA player.

He needs to get stronger. He also needs to stop reaching in so much on defense... or get better at it.

One theme I have heard is the announcers... yes the announcers talking about how the Badgers are recipients of poor calls. I think it was Robbie Hummel who called out the refs for the terrible missed goaltending call when they played Purdon't.

We will see what happens in the NCAA tournament. Will they allow defenders to clothesline Brad Davidson and not have a foul called? Maybe.

Meh. Davis clearly looked like he was still feeling the ankle. In a lot of ways, they’ll benefit more from the 6-7 days off than playing another mostly meaningless game or two this weekend.

This is what I'm thinking as well. He wasn't moving a whole lot off ball and I'll take the extra day or 2 off. Hopefully we play Friday as well for another extra day.

With a top 4 seed, Badgers will play Friday. Milwaukee has the 18/20th.

I suppose they could get sent to Indy for the Thurs/Sat regional, but I think that's pretty unlikely.

If they fall to a 5 or something, all bets are off.

3 seed playing against Colgate Friday in Milwaukee.  We were the 9th overall seed, so it looks like we didn't get dinged much for the last 2 games.  Likely the committee felt like the injury to Davis gave us a pass.

Patriot League is probably bottom 5 in the country. Colgate jacks a bunch of threes and doesn't really play defense. Hope they don't go nuclear.

This is the dream seeding/scenario all things considered.  Quite different than what I'm used to the past 20 years as a UW fan.

So, that said I am fully expecting a loss to Colgate.

Yeah, this is as good a path as you'll ever get.

That said, LSU is very athletic and Iowa State can grind and grind and grind. I think UW matches up well with both of them. I'd make them a little over 50 percent to get to the Sweet 16. Big favorite round 1, slight fav, round two. This tournament is crazy. But that's as good of odds as you'll see.

Edit: 538 has Badgers 48% to get to Sweet 16. Pretty good.

LSU is a big mystery with the coaching shakeup. It will be interesting to see how they look in round 1. They should beat Iowa State.

I hope they get to the Auburn matchup in Chicago. There would be plenty of red in the stands for that one as well.

Colgate can beat WI because I assume they can beat Nebraska. ?Glad for the seeding and placement on the Midwest/Milwaukee/Chicago. I look at each game as a toss up throughout the tournament for Wisconsin. They can play with anyone and seemingly can lose to anyone.

Friday night tickets @Fiserv are crazy expensive right now.  Anyone have experience on the secondary market for events like this?

I have a room booked for Thursday & Friday night at a hotel with a shuttle running to the forum….but it’s looking like I’ll pay more for my ticket than the room.

I really hope Bucky will be able to brush (off) Colgate and move to the next round. *rimshot*

Can’t underestimate the Scope of this game if their Aim is to advance in the tournament.

There’s no Plaque for losing in the first round. At the same time I don’t Sense-a-Dynasty in the making either.

Back in the olden days (like 5 years ago), you could just wait until halftime of the first game (or even later) of the session and get deeply discounted tickets from scalper on the street.  I don't know how well that works now with mostly digital tickets.  I think I've read about some online secondary ticket site that specialized in selling super discounted tickets late, but I don't know what the name of it was.

UW is better than Colgate. But Colgate's a much better 3-point shooting team.

I think size and athleticism will keep a lot of those shooters in check, but that's the reason to worry in round 1. Colgate might end up plus-15 on threes, especially given the Badgers' struggles there. Cannot have scoring droughts when that's the case.

That's the thing keeping this close for me. Colgate goes like 10 for 26 from three while UW goes 2 for 12. Then, you're in a really tight game almost no matter what.

I don't think that'll happen, but you'll have to keep Colgate off the offensive glass. Can't be giving up extra possessions.

The fear I have today is that the Badgers allow Colgate to stay in the game.  I just don't trust this team to stomp on someone.  It seems with this team it is always close and late games which is a recipe for disaster in the tournament especially early on.
