2021-10-12 (NLDS Game #4): Brewers (Lauer) at Braves (Morton) [Brewers lose, 5-4 -- Freeman’s 8th inning HR off Hader breaks tie, and hearts]

Eye Black

Narvaez needs to bring some offense today. He has been pretty blah for quite a while now.

We need all the boys to bring their A games today, maybe old man Cain can make a difference.

Here’s hoping we see some magic from Lauer today. Would be an incredible addition to his incredible 2nd half. Here’s hoping Morton is overextended, hangs some meatballs over dead center and our batters have their post-season Renaissance. Let’s score some runs and get back on the winning side of things!

Only issue I have with the lineup is Urias is too low. Outside of that I like it. The Yelich hate is over the top. He has probably been on base more than any other brewer this series - not saying it has been impressive, but I can list off numerous starters who have been less productive so far

In 2002 the Braves played a 95-win Giants team in the NLDS. Giants won the first game and lost the next two to put the Braves up 2-1 in the series. The Braves decided to throw Tom Glavine on short rest for game 4. Glavine got shelled, giving up 7 hits, 5 walks, and 7 runs over just 2.2 IP. The Giants went on to also win game 5 and ended up playing in the World Series that year.

Here’s hoping history repeats itself.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Looks like CC went with Urias over Escobar. And Yeli still in the 3 hole. Looking forward to a W today and a fun game on Thursday!

I mean, seems like a no-brainer to play the guy who went 2/4 in the first game against Morton.

No Brewer had 2 hits in Game 1 against Morton.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

[sarcasm]You want the Giants to play in the WS this year?[/sarcasm]

It was game 2. Urias was 2/4 in game 2.

Looks like Cain might get scratched from the lineup. Some stiffness. We might see JBJ out there after all.

Please just use Taylor instead if that is the case.

I fully expected Cain to be out of the line-up today after his pile up with the wall yesterday...

Seeing a rumor that Soler is out with COVID...that would be an interesting development...

According to Karl Ravech:

Christian Pache will now hit leadoff and play RF for the Braves. Jorge Soler was in the original lineup.

Just what the offense needs. Can anyone else play center and Taylor play right?

Garcia played CF adequately last year when he was fat(relative for an MLB player). Have to think he could do it even better now. Obviously not at Cain/JBJ gold glove level, but we need offense and Taylor is by far better for that.

Move Avi to Center and put Jace in RF

I'd feel better with Taylor in Center. Not a big fan of Avi's defense in general. I still have PTSD from that fly ball that should have ended the game on that Saturday night vs SF.
