Longest hitting streaks all time in MLB

Can anyone help me find a list of the longest hitting streaks in MLB. I looked on baseballreference.com but couldn't find it. Thanks

I am just trying to guess how many players of the history of the game have had at least a 20 game hitting streak.....150 would be my guess.

I'd bet it's a longer list than 150.

 

DiMaggio is #1 at 56, and I think Molitor is still second with 39. That's all I know off the top of my head.

I thought I heard Hart had the 4th or 5th longest in team history....so assuming 28 other teams prior to expansion have around 4 guys that have streaks that long, that is where I came up with 150. Hopefully someone can come trhough to see how offi I am.

No reason to get excited, Hart isn't even half way to Charlie Hustle yet.

The longest streaks I remember are Luis Castillo and Jerome Walton.....I think those are both in the 30's.

In searching baseball-reference.com's streak finder, I found over 300 hitting streaks of 20 or more games only going back to 1957.

 

It's interesting the no-names that have had hitting streaks of 20 games or more: John Flaherty, Butch Huskey, Denny Doyle, Al Martin, Reggie Jefferson, Jerome Walton, Lenny Randle, Rey Sanchez, Tony Eusebio, Carlos Garcia, Mike Vail.

 

Meanwhile these Hall-of-Famers or almost certain Hall-of-Famers have never had a 20-game hitting streak: Yount, Biggio, Ripken, Yastrzemski, Schmidt, Barry Bonds, Griffey Jr, Gary Carter, Rickey Henderson.

My dad and I were talking and he brought up an interesting point. It sure seems like Hart's streak has flown under the radar a lot more than Hardy's earlier this season. Why is that? At first I thought it was because of all of Hardy's home runs, but Hart has hit his fare share (and important shots, to boot) is it becuase the brewers aren't as hot as they were?

Hardy had his at the beginning of the season to send a perennial doormat to the top of the league standings. Hart is doing his in the middle of a season with a non east coast team already on top of the standings.
