The Nashville Sounds have won 6 of their last 7 games and will try to keep it rolling. Alec Bettinger looks for a repeat of his last start (5.1 innings, 1 ER, 5 Ks in a win) and David Dahl continues to anchor the lineup (hit safely in 16 of last 18 games, with .903 OPS in the span):

The DSL-1 squad, who’ve been decent (31-27 record), were on the wrong end of a 7-inning perfect game today (a 2-0 loss). But that may be part-squad choice (sat 3 of top OPS guys) and part-luck (only K’d 5 times in 21 ABs).

 

This is on the back of being 1-hit yesterday in a 1-0 “extra inning” 8-inning loss. The team had 2 earned baserunners in that one (double, walk) and 3 men left on base (since the free 8th inning ghost runner also didn’t score). 2 of their top OPS guys sat out that game as well.

 

The DSL-2 squad appears to be playing a different game entirely, winning 13-3 today (7 innings) after losing 19-4 yesterday (9 innings). Big signing, 17-year old Jackson Chourio went 4-5 today with 4 RBIs, hitting his 5th homer. That rockets his season OPS to .841 after a slow start. He’s started 32 games in center field and 6 games at second base.

Sounds fall 7-2, Eliminated from Final Stretch Contention

This one was bad all around, but hey, at least we have October MILB baseball. Out-hit 8-5 and with 4 errors (none for the Indians), Nashville could not come back from a 4-1 third inning deficit. Matt Lipka was the main bright spot, with a third inning homer and fifth inning double. 26-year old starter Alec Bettinger's relatively disappointing season ends with a 4.75 ERA in 96.2 innings.
