I join the unsavory language crowd. HOW do you explain picking that Flag up and magically discerning 'intent'. Unreal. Also, is it me or does every fg look like a Tonyan blocking disaster waiting to happen. He is simply flailing. Yikes.

I am not clear on the rule of "the ball moves" that they were talking about he didn't really snap it until a split second later, would that be a false start to move the ball but not snap it?

There's generally a little bit of leeway. Centers have some ability to move the ball as long as it's not a "fake snap" type thing. Depends on what the exact movement was and it's really a judgment call if the refs even see it.

I think they were offsides before the ball started moving backwards if that means anything but without a down the line shot can't be sure. Anyway they just go their makeup call.

They were line up offsides. Correct. However, Watts routinely is lined up over the LOS. Apparently, he is there to get calls.

Why all of a sudden is "intent" important in deciding whether or not something is a penalty? If you trip someone, you tripped them, whether you meant to or not. If you hold someone, it's holding, whether you meant to or not. If you block someone in the back, it's BITB, whether you meant to or not. Why the last two weeks is the discussion centered around intent all of a sudden?

Thank You. Because, let's be real: you simply can not determine 'intent'. So do away with it. If you trip a qb leaving the pocket: penalty. End of story.

I remember being there for #421 for Favre. Seems rather meaningless now when you see how the NFL has changed with throwing the football.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
