2023 is a mutual option, so probably won't be picked up.

 

Then again 12 million salary vs 8 million buyout makes the decision a little more interesting.

2023 is basically a dummy year (mutual option). For all intents and purposes, it is a 2-year, $24 million deal. Bad enough, I know.

Urias with a 23 dinger 70 some rbi season is about the most pleasant development I could ask for this season. If I pair that to the acquisition and performance of Adames and the developments of Lauer and Houser this season was a MAJOR major success. I'll take that to the bank. Kinda surprised they aren't riding Anderson a little deeper here. He's only at 61 pitches, and I'd be surprised if he makes the postseason roster.

Just let Anderson throw 100 pitches. What’s the point of taking him out at 60. Unless we are working out the scrub relievers.

The issue with that is that he is taking up a roster spot from someone who could improve us.

 

If JBJ is 2021 JBJ next season, he just clogs up the roster.

 

If I could move him, even for next to nothing in a trade, I'd do it yesterday.

 

His salary is just such a waste if it prohibits us from signing someone useful.

Me as well. Tho, maybe what they are hinting at here is all Starters will make the Bullpen? Interesting development for sure. Maybe they are going to go entirely match-up and short-leash based in Game 3?
