The U23 Baseball World Cup started today in Mexico. Leo Crawford is currently on the mound for Nicaragua, and is through three scoreless innings so far in their game against Korea.

 

Venezuela is playing later tonight, and their roster is filled with familiar names, including infielder Antonio Pinero, catcher Jose Sibrian and outfielders Jesus Lujano and Carlos Rodriguez. Former Brewers farmhands Nelson Hernandez, Henry Medina and Anderson Melendez are all on the Venezuela squad as well.

Colin Rea stretched his scoreless inning streak to 17 before yielding 1 run in the 6th inning to cut the lead to 2-1. The Sounds then immediately responded, scoring 2 runs in the 6th, 3 runs in the 7th and 1 run in the 8th.
