2021-09-23: Cardinals (Wainwright) at Brewers (Houser) [Brewers lose, 8-5 -- Crew up 5-0 early on two Tyrone Taylor home runs; bullpen scuffles allowing 7 runs]

Eye Black
As difficult as it might be, I really think that for tomorrow night, and then Saturday against 50 year old lefty Rich Hill, Counsell has to bench Yelich and start Taylor in left and Garcia in right. See if Taylor can be hot for a few days. When the team is struggling so much to produce runs, at least play the two guys who have produced the most this week.

Even tho Yelich is one of the cornerstones we brought in to build the team around he should sit if others are producing. He is hitting like a pitcher and this has been going on since he returned from his broken his kneecap. This isn't your garden variety "slump" here. I don't know if it is between his ears or not but his poor offensive production will be an albatross if we continue to trot him out there come playoff time. :(

Anyone getting a bit worried about this team.

I am. We will most win this division but what good is that if we are limping into the playoffs playing crappy baseball? Some here say this isn't something to be concerned about. However, the margin between winning and losing is very slim so momentum isn't something we should just dismiss out of hand.

Sweep the Mets this weekend, and those games against the Cardinals next week don't matter in the least, regardless of what the Cardinals do against the Cubs.

Yeah and maybe Santa Claus will come down your chimminy on Monday. :laughing

Grow up. Every team goes through tough stretches. The Brewers are a good baseball team, whether you want to admit it or not. And the Mets are 2-8 in their last 10 games. The Brewers are actually better at 3-7. God forbid someone actually have a little bit of optimism!

Good lord people, it's like some of you are waiting around for the team to play a few bad games of baseball to pull out the "told you so's" and the "see, they are what they always are's". Give me a break. It isn't a good look.

Instead, Yelich will start, and Taylor will be on the bench.

Watch and see.

I am quoting myself for truth.

TAYLOR IS IN FACT ON THE BENCH AFTER HIS 2 HOMER NIGHT.
