2021 Postseason Pre-Sales Announced

Hasn't been posted yet so I figure I will drop this here incase anyone didn't see it. This pre-sale format does appear to be different than years past...at least for the NLDS. It appears more simplified and less pre-sales. I imagine this same format will follow the entire postseason.

1) Season Seat Holder presale starts tomorrow (9/22 10am). Years past this was broken down so full season and half season ticket holders got in before 20 game plans. Appears they will all be lumped together this time.

2) 10-game pack holders will have a pre-sale starting 9/24 starting at 10am.

3) Wisconsin resident pre-sale will start 9/27 at 10am. If you are going to participate in this pre-sale you must have a Wisconsin billing address. It also states you will need a password emailed to you, so if you don't have previous ticket purchases on your account from a Wisconsin billing address you might want to call ahead of time to confirm your account is set up to get into the sale.

4) They do not list a general on-sale date for non Wisconsin residents.

If you don't recall from 2018 or were not a season seat holder back then please be aware you SHOULD NOT buy tickets during these pre-sales and then sell them. People made this mistake in 2018 and got locked out of buying NLCS tickets..it was a mess and the Brewers didn't warn people. They didn't seem to care if you sold your post season strip, for what it is worth.

The Brewers NLDS games will 99% likely be the following:

Friday, October 8th (Game 1)

Saturday, October 9th (Game 2)

Thursday, October 14th (Game 5, if needed)

In the email blast I received regarding the presale, they specifically note on the email that if you resell you won't be eligible for the next presale. It's nice they explicitly stated it this time, last time I had no clue that would happen and I sold during NLDS and had to call my rep and promise not to sell them again to get further presale access. So I definitely recommend not buying these to sell, certainly would be a shame to not have access to world series tickets to make maybe a couple hundred bucks during the NLDS.

Thanks, I didn't see that on the email. I checked the site, but I didn't see it mentioned there. Glad they are at least warning people, the surprise lock out was a very unwise decision.

I’m not expecting sellouts for the NLDS games. Maybe for a Game 5.

Ehh you might be right but I still think NLDS will sell out. Weekend games certainly help. Game 5 definitely will if it happens. I don't think the demand is going to be ridiculous that you'd make much money on resale if you went that route though.

Is it crazy to think the Bucks run will positively impact the attendance for these games? As the Bucks advanced in the playoffs, being in the Deer District for each game became pretty much a must do for a lot of people--specifically the younger crowd.

Brewers obviously don't have a similar watch party set up, but it's also easier/more affordable to get tickets. I think the fans who experienced the Deer District watch party saw how fun it was to be in that environment and will be looking to do something similar for this Brewers run, which will translate into attending Brewers playoff games.

I don't see why they couldn't set up the stage in the Deer District again...I know it's not right at the stadium but it would still be a good use of the space.

Not sure if it was the Bucks or the City of Milwaukee who organized the Deer District watch parties. If it was the Bucks then I doubt they would want to organize/run the parties when they aren't playing. That is beside the point though. I was trying to say that I think the Bucks run has likely energized more of the casual fan base and could lead to an uptick in ticket demand.

I don't think they would utilize the Deer District in the NLDS or NLCS. They have a lot of tickets to sell...maybe for the World Series they might try to set up a watch party type area. Baseball just isn't as action packed as other sports. I don't think it would bring as big of a draw to go stand elbow to elbow with people peeing in bottles. Maybe they will do something for road games.

Tickets will sell fine, but there are a lot of reasons that demand will be diminished compared to past years (past COVID issues). Consistent success usually diminishes excitement for early round playoff games, especially spend a bunch of money to watch it. The Brewers have made the NLDS/WC four years in a row...it isn't the magical run like 2008/2011/2018. The Bucks run could also cause less demand. Wisconsin sports teams don't pack stadiums with rich business people...it is driven by the casual spectator. This is why the stadium doesn't have plush fancy home plate seating. There could be a lot of money fatigue by people who spent a ton to participate in the Bucks playoff run. However, I think the Bucks/Brewers fanbases don't overlap all that much...so that shouldn't be a huge issue.

On the flip side the Brewers (and TV ratings) will definitely benefit from the Packers/Badgers both playing on the road. Additionally the Packers play at noon on Sunday and the Badgers probably will play at noon.

Idk, I think part of the reason attendance is down is because there is not much suspense and hasn't been for months. We've been in first place with a large cushion and there is clearly a postseason so I'm sure lots of people have the same idea of just waiting for this. I think they'll be sold out.

Also, IIRC, at the World Series stage, you're only able to buy ONE game during these presales.

I made thousands off the NLDS in 2018. There was a window where the assumption was the Cubs would be here and the day they were eliminated I sold a batch of seats to that game for something like an 800% mark-up that were field level along first base. They lost the WC game that night. I can't remember if they locked people out for the NLCS. I'm pretty sure they didn't start doing that until the World Series. And they let you back in if you promised to stop. I wouldn't expect them to be forgiving this time around.

One thing I'd be interested to know is what the penalty is if I sell WS pre-sale tix. There is no next round to penalize me with. A next season I guess, but who cares?

I think attendance is fine, Brewers are 10th in MLB in attendance this year. They were 8th in 2019 and 10th in 2018. This year they are outdrawing several other first place teams including the White Sox and San Francisco.

In my view, raw attendance numbers are never going to return to pre-pandemic levels. That era is over. Attendance across all sports was already in decline by the late-2010s and the desire for people to be in crowds or watch sports from bad seats has never been lower.

The good news is that the attendance drop will surely force some much-needed changes to the sport and it will happen sooner rather than later. The Brewers certainly aren't helping themselves with how slow they play--they have played 17 home games this year with a game time of 3:45 or longer.

I thought the same thing about WS. The punishment would certainly be worth what you could get.

I remember that swing and I did well in 2018 also, but I don't expect the market to be nearly as good this year for quite a few reasons...reason number 1 as you noted no cubs.

I think it was the World Series people got snubbed on. I remember reselling NLDS and NLCS tickets now that I think of it. I didn't care about getting locked out of the World Series because I wasn't in a presale high enough to even have a shot at those...so for me there was no harm.

As far as the consequences of reselling World Series tickets...guessing you would get locked out for the remainder of the year (so no punishment)...but I don't think I would be willing to test out that theory. Wasn't the limit for the World Series 2? Or was it 4? I suppose for $2k or so I could wipe that punishment. Especially considering I would still have my playoff strip each year.

It's fine but there are 10k empty seats for Sunday matinees with bobbleheads and a team 30 games over .500. It hasn't been like a regular year. I don't anticipate 10k empty seats for the NLDS.

Pretty certain the WS was the same 4 seats but only 1 game.

I believe it was 4 tickets, but for only 1 game. You couldn't get tickets for all the games like NLCS/NLDS.

This is nuts, the Brewers are going to have massive fan interest for their playoff games. Just wait until the calendar turns to October they lead off the postseason with dominant outings from Burnes/Woodruff. Every causal sports fan in Wisconsin has been talking about the Bucks-Brewers title combo for months. My uncle who barely follows the Brewers asked about World Series tickets.

Game 1 of the NLDS is going to have wildly different fan interest than a hypothetical game 6 of the NLCS with a 3-2 lead. 4 years ago I would have been beating down the door to get to any NLDS game. Now it's certainly exciting but i don't NEED to be there as we've been this far quite often recently.

Yeah I won't be going to the NLDS. I'm not participating in the pre-sale this time but I'm just selling my strip, potentially until a clinch game of the NLCS and then I'd probably go to as many WS games as there are. I have some prior engagements 10/8 and 10/9 but winning a NLDS series a third time in 10 years isn't something I have to see in person.
