"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Nice. Should be a fun day for Noah & he's definitely earned it with a solid season in Carolina this summer posting a 273/391/392 (120 wRC+) line with a 14.0 BB% / 22.9 K% and 20/3 SB/CS.

Has played primarily LF, but has seen time at all four infield spots & even pitched thrice, so C, CF & RF will be the only new spots for Noah today.

Super Noah Campbell and the Mudcats End a Great Season with a Win, Beating Woodpeckers 5-2

https://www.milb.com/carolina-mudcats/news/campbell-earns-save-and-plays-all-nine-positions-in-finale-win

The Noah Campbell Game. The man was everywhere, literally. He played all 9 positions, starting at catcher ad working his way around the diamond. Thankfully, the team took the lead in the 8th inning and gave him two insurance runs in the 9th, so that he could also EARN THE SAVE with a perfect 9th inning. Did I mention that he also led off for the team?

The Mudcats finish the season with a 68-52 record.

Tyler Black – 4-5, 1 RBI, 2 SBs

Zack Raabe – 1-2

Alex Binelas – 1-5, HR, 2 RBIs

Eduardo Garcia – 0-2, 2 walks, HBP, 1 SB

Brendan Murphy with a short start: 1.0 inning, zero runs, 0 Ks

Brailin Rodriguez got the most work: 4.2 innings, 2 runs, 6 Ks

Nate Peden solidly earned the win: 2.1 innings, zero runs, 3 Ks

Noah Campbell, save artist: 1.0 inning, zero runs, 0 Ks.

The Shuckers end the season in style, putting up 12 hits and winning their last two series of the season.

The team finished the year 45-69, seemingly being undermanned all year but never giving up.

Hayden Cantrelle – 3-5, 3B, 2 RBIs, 1 SB

Tristen Lutz – 2-3, walk

Brent Diaz – 2-3, walk, 1 SB

David Hamilton – 2-4, walk, 1 SB (giving him 52 SBs in 61 attempts on the year)

Mitch Longo – 1-2, 3B, walk, 1 RBI

Chad Spanberger – 1-3, walk, 1 RBI

Jesus Castillo with the fine victory: 6.0 innings, zero runs, 3 Ks

Leo Crawford, Zack Brown and Cody Beckman were all solid: combined 3.0 innings, zero runs, 4 Ks

Nashville Struggles in All Facets of the Game, Losing 7-0 to Stripers, But Winning Series 3-2

https://www.milb.com/nashville/news/gwinnett-powers-their-way-over-nashville

The team gave up 5 runs in the 5th inning, managing just as many hits (2) as errors (2) in the game. They also had no walks and ground into one double play, meaning that Gwinnett faced only 28 batters.

Tyrone Taylor – 1-3

Christian Kelley – 1-3

Victor Castaneda took the loss, but was not overwhelmed after the promotion from Wisconsin: 4.0 innings, 1 ER, 6 Ks

Kyle Lobstein did not do so well: 0.1 innings, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 K

Thomas Jankins and RJ Alvarez were solid: 2.2 innings, zero runs, 5 Ks

Campbell is #19 on my Top 25 ballot. The versatility was one reason, but he's got OBP skills, speed, hits a bunch of doubles, is a switch-hitter... the type of guy who is very valuable on a bench, to be honest.
