In a weird way, if the magic number is 2 or 1 heading into the 4-gamer with STL, does it behoove the Cards to lose game 1? I know it's not the Cardinals way, but have to figure they'd rather get face three Sunday-type lineups...

Cardinals are in a 3 way fight for a WC spot. They're gonna scrap tooth and nail for every win they can.

Yeah, and if the Brewers are still playing for the clinch in later games, it means you've already banked wins. Just a passing thought, I guess.

I think this was brought up in the magic number thread, but if they clinch a playoff spot tonight is there going to be any sort of celebration? I know the division championship is the true prize, but I assume they’ll acknowledge it somehow.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

I feel like even though this'll be four years in a row, making the playoffs for the Milwaukee Brewers is still kind of a big deal, so ...... I guess we'll see?

I think I read somewhere, not on this board, that they intend to keep a WC clinch low-key. Not sure exactly where I read that.

As I said in that thread, I am thinking they are almost forced to by MLB due to the apparel stuff. Fanatics probably requires it.

Not sure if they are forced to play around with champagne and beer…but it wouldn’t shock me if they have to.
