This has to be the most BBs Burnes has given up this season.

Also, stick a fork in Cy Young race unless he spins a mega gem or Scherzer puts up a stinker.

I agree this outing doesn’t help, but the way Scherzer is going there really wasn’t much chance anyway. Scherzer’s been pitching like a Nolan Ryan / Greg Maddox Frankenstein monster.

Definitely not Burnes' best night and he did not seem to be on the same page with Pina on a few occasions. Nice job grinding through 6 without too much damage.

Definitely felt like there was some indication they were not completely comfortable with men on 2nd and felt like signs were being highjacked, and the batters were giving some clear tells that they knew what was coming. In that last at-bat, Ortega didn't so much as flinch at that REALLY good 1-2 curveball.

Now, to be super super clear, I'm not calling a man on 2nd stealing signs cheating, but it does make a pitcher and catcher's job tougher (which it should!), and it seemed to me at least that Pina and Burnes were fighting it tonight.

Cubbies have been swinging the bats pretty decent so far this series.

This revamped Cubs lineup has been scoring a lot of runs recently. The key is to take advantage of their pitching because it’s hard to beat them 2-1.

It’s just harder to score a lot of runs with some of the team’s best hitters on the bench.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If a runner on second can decipher signs, I have no problem with that. It's not like they are banging on garbage cans or something.
